Songs are getting shorter now.

When CD became the main format, a lot of artists definitely went nuts and started making those super long albums. Rap was always kind of unusual with with the 16+ song albums with 4 minute songs and shyt.

I've said this before but streaming has made the musical landscape a little bit more similar to how it was in the 60s and 70s, where artists would make shorter albums and drop more frequent releases.

Rap lyric comes in saying “I’m the illest nikka in the streets and the only nikka to drop my opps with out the heat “ for 10 seconds

Outro beat for 30 seconds

You can tell we old cause nikkas ain't said "Illest" in like 2 decades

I am an old head but I don't see the need for new songs to have 3 verses of rapping.
I don't mind shorter songs & I think 3 verses is burdensome to a songwriter.

then don't be a songwriter if you can't come up with 48 bars

yall have really low expectations for artists...no one called it a burden when people wrote 3-5 min songs, now it's a burden to write an entire second verse
