I get that, but what about gameplay?

for the most part innovations in gameplay relying on newer tech tends to be an empty promise. like how people claim there's no "true next gen games". the more ambitious attempts tend to be stuff like "now we can have 1000's of zombies", and then it runs like crap on so-called next gen systems

diminishing returns and such I guess. sure there's been a few examples of games doing new things, but for the most part they don't

That's not an exclusive then. If a game can run on both the Larry and Scorpio then the Scorpio is being held back. That's no different than cross gen games coming out on PS3 up to PC. Any game can do what you advocate but who wantsa game like this?

EVERY game is held back technically. No dev is making a game that's tailored specifically to a high powered video card even on PC. Your idea is to make a game for Scorpio and then port it over to the Larry. It can be done but it depends on the game really. You can't make a ps4 game like Uncharted 4 and "port" it to the ps3 without extreme sacrifices. It just won't be worth it.

At best, the Neo and Scorpio will be running base console games with better visuals, effects and performance as how a PC version is.

Such n such game being "held back" by weak hardware is nothing but a myth repeated by people with very limited knowledge of game technology.

Modern game engines are very scaleable. It's how you can have Battlefield on PC looking almost like a movie, yet still have that game playable on old ass PS360 hardware.

To me Gears looks fun but it doesn't look like it'll be any different from the previous 4.
Cup head looks dope all around and I've never been a big fan of dead rising.

The games will still have to be compatible with the XB1, there will be no Scorpio ONLY games. Working on Scorpio games =/= the game will be Scorpio only.
