This is a different statement than the one you said before. I would agree with this.

You said before that releasing on more platforms doesn’t equal making more money.

That’s false. Just depends on how much money you are willing to sacrifice to prop up an individual platform.
:ehh:I agree my original statement was worded poorly. I meant to say more platforms doesn't automatically equal significantly more sales.

Well the point of any of this is profit.

The point of choosing between platforms and release dates is to make more profit,

It’s clear sony is looking for ways to improve profit margins.

Releasing games on PC may or may not be the correct decision.

Remember, sony has not officially changed their stance. Officially, publicly they are still looking for ways to profit off the PC market.

Even in your cac tweets it says they may reverse plans back to releasing GOY on PC.

Op might be coming back to up this thread upon a GOY PC release date announcement, then all of you are gonna have to come back and pretend you didn’t act like you did in here. :hubie:

Why would they have to "officially" change their stance? No game was ever released on PS5 with the promise of a PC version later. Every release just ends up coming on PC after some time unannounced. If they changed their stance their best odds are not saying anything.

Sonys official public stance.
They have not changed it
Yall arguing cac tweet “maybe”s

It’s very possible GOY releases on PC at some point.

Sony is definitely waiting to see how the steam machine and project helix affects their console space which I think it will as long as they keep PS6 at a lower price. But here’s the thing the pc market is growing and I know people will say it’s too expensive for hardware but people will just scale back and not buy the high end GPUs if it’s too expensive. Besides most people have mid tier setups judging by the steam survey. Consoles only sell slightly over a 100 million I’m sure the budgets for PS6 games will be higher than PS5 and they can’t depend on live service games to be extra revenue since they are hit and miss. Eventually Wolverine will have to find a second home. Plus we still need to hear officially from Sony which I don’t think we will hear from them since they had their insiders do more talking then they have. They can easily go back on this if they decide to do Pc ports again.

Sony will probably sell 10 million units MAX for Wolverine on PS5... but GTA 6 will make them think twice as that's on two platforms and sold 30 million... and PC is not even out yet which means Sony will want to capitalize on that and jump back to PC. Plus everyone will want to buy it since nobody will want PS6 day one so Sony can make up for that from PC sales on Steam.. and eventually PC ports will be back in favor because Marvel Tokon is selling a lot and then you know I just feel like... live service games besides HD2 and every other successful one means Sony needs to make money back. Plus who wants to only play on PS5? Wolverine won't be 4K/60fps because RTX cards will do way more than that.. but everyone will belesser cards because reasons"

:mjlol:

Dude practically begging for games.

Even if people scale back, mid tier PC setups are still expensive. You buy a new setup you have to buy all the peripherals and monitors with it. New GPUs are expensive, RAM upgrades may not always be but it's expensive now.

Consoles still have their spot and will have it into the near future. Base model and a Pro model to make more margin is the way forward for Sony. 1st party going back exclusive will sell more hardware. The best place to play 3rd party titles on console will sell hardware. Then when they expand the playerbase on console people will be more inclined to buy the next gen system. I think this is the right strategy. Hardware sales still matter.

Their hardware sales are always roughly the same the PS5 barely had any price cuts and I expect the same thing with PS6. You don’t think the price of hardware isn’t going to go up for PS6 like it would for PC. A PlayStation console basically uses PC hardware how would they not be affected by this even if they subsidize it. There’s only so much of a loss they will take.

I do have a PS5 but at the same time I don’t think their first party moves the needle like it once did to sell they consoles outside of a few.

Apparently it still is, PS5 isn't struggling to move units. So far the PS5's first party titles is reaching PS4 status imo. Only thing we missing is a ND game. One GTA and Wolverine drop I thin this convo will be done. Yeah like @Gizmo_Duck said it's weird to be saying you don't think PS5 had much important games but then you basically stressing over what Sony may/may not do.
