Right!! Nobody got time to be digging into the Bios and updating driver as well as making sure Windows isn't tripping with the game. The major selling point of a console is that it's plug and play. You either choose Performance or visual. You don't have to go through all of those settings to get the game to work perfectly. It just works lol

Imagine little timmy giving their old head parents/grandparents a Pcpartpicker list :francis: :mjlol:

A vast majority of people buy Playstation for the exclusives, so its hard for me to believe a majority of people are playing 3rd party games.

Secondly, PC is too expensive, complex, and time consuming. Your are alienating a big part of your customer base. A lot of people buy consoles for simplicity. And Think of all the teens and kids who get consoles for Christmas.

So its not really a win to switch to PC.

If that was the case then Sony wouldn’t be putting games on PC then. God of War did 15 million and 11 million on Spider-man 2. God of War has PS4 sales combined. Spider-Man 2 it’s Spider-man so I get that it’s a high seller. Helldivers 2 is at 12 million combined with pc. Horizon Forbidden West 8.4 million combined with PS4 and PS5. Everything else that’s been exclusive to PS5 has sold single digit millions and there’s now 80 million people who have a PS5 so this is not the vast majority sir.

So why does PS5 have record sales numbers? Why are people buying PlayStation in droves?

Take away all the exclusives, where would the leave Sony?

Because Sony is a strong brand in gaming. Plus it was a social media sensation prior to it launching. All the memes that came from it. When it comes to consoles it’s pretty much the best place to play triple A games and third party for console.

Sony could not do any first party games at this point and still sell relatively well with third party tbh. This is why I say games going to PC won’t hurt their brand because it’s nikkaz like you that don’t fukk with it and want something simple and plug and play.

This a dumb argument.

80 million people on PS5 aren't all one demographic that buys the same games. There's literally thousands of games on PS5, most third party and most of them are not selling millions even. If 80 million people didn't buy Street Fighter 6 why should 80 million people suddenly be the ones buying Ratchet and Clank? The vast majority of games that sell and continue to sell are often a small number of popular franchises. Alan Wake 2 should be ported to PS3 and Xbox 360 since it only sold a few million according to this logic.

Ok but he said the vast majority either way that’s not the vast. Every switch game has sold at 20 million and up if we talking a console that sell first party and they we’re doing that with less than 80 million consoles sold

Loud and wrong lol.

Super Mario Maker 2 sold less than 9 million, I guess Nintendo needs to evaluate their platforms and start selling games on Steam. 153 million Switches out and less than 10% of owners bought that game.

Pikmin 4, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Yoshi's Crafted world etc. Bunch of Nintendo games that didn't sell 10 million, most under 5. I guess Nintendo needs to start dropping their games on PS5 :troll:.

Smash Bros sold around 36 million copies, I guess that's a failed franchise breh.

Ok there’s outliers

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe~68.2–68.9 million
2Animal Crossing: New Horizons~47.8–48.2 million
3Super Smash Bros. Ultimate~36.4–36.6 million
4The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild~32.8–33.0 million
5Super Mario Odyssey~29.3–29.5 million
6Pokémon Sword & Shield~26.8 million
7Pokémon Scarlet & Violet~26.7 million
8The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom~21.7–21.9 million
9Super Mario Party~21.2 million
10New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe~18.3 million

But still a good chunk that did.

There's like 60 games not on this list that didn't sell that much.

Now imagine doing that for third party games and you should see the point I'm making. People buy games for their consoles, some are third party, some are first party. A LOT of third party games fail despite being everywhere. Some people buy Switches for like 1 game and never touch it or buy one to share or w/e.

This is the fundamental part here .

Exclusives obviously incentivize platform preference. But Sony doesn't feel the same way, and here they are reaffirming their vision.

Now you got stans coping in various ways because they pigeon holed themselves into riding for Sony no matter what, completely unable to criticize this shift in exclusivity strategy.

Casuals will always buy consoles, because the people who exclusively play Fortnite, GTA Online, COD, 2K, etc overwhelmingly dominate the console player base, but enthusiasts who care about maximizing their experience will just migrate to PC to play games that were once exclusive to PS consoles, now rendered as timed exclusives.

What y'all keep skipping over is how much time and money it takes to build and optimize a PC for the best experience.

How much do you need to spend on a PC to run Spiderman 2 at the best settings?

Ok but Nintendo can afford its losses because there budgets aren’t no where near as insanely high as Sony which is an issue.

What point are you even trying to make?

No one is arguing everyone from console is going to migrate to PC, this only impacts the most hardcore gamers.

If you trying to have all the bells and whistles with raytracing and path tracing stable 60fps at 4k easily between 3500 and up. If you’re starting from scratch. That’s with the best hardware though of course you can go much lower and still get a better experience than console with upscalers with less expensive hardware.
