The Original Rec Room Gang
$800 PC vs $350 PS5.

$800 PC
-Same level of graphics
-Same FPS
-Same level of ray tracing.
-Having to deal with software issues
-Having to deal with controller settings
-Having to deal with hackers

Why go through all that hassle when you can just cop a $350 PS5 digital?
Why go thru the hassle of a PS5 digital when they can just stream from the fire stick/Samsung app and only need a controller?
Since this is what we doing here
Why you so defensive? I just asked if you have a PC and what's your Steam name lol. I'm not on here trashing a platform either, hell I've spent close to $1K alone on my GPU this year so why would I need to trash something I use?

Oh wow look, Fatboi got all these games on Steam and talk bad about pc, teh $0any cUlt meMbEr naRrAtIvE! :mjlol:

That's a balanced perspective, not a foaming at the mouth fanboy.
Just because you paid for a PC doesn't mean you wasn't a lifelong fanboy :stop:
You having a PC proves the PS wasn't doing it for you :wow:

I don't play much of anything on Xbox PC. Last thing I tried was Claire Obscure through Gamepass. If it ain't on PS5 or Steam I'm not playing em.
:jbhmm:
If I was trashing something all day, I'd better have receipts of me going through it a lot.
:ohhh:
Xbox is trash.
I can't even believe this shytty platform has fans. I bet you Xbox fans also are big Silkk da Shocker fans. Straight :trash:
If the "competition" is trash it ain't the winners fault.

Cult behavior:wow:

The gamers that want games on all platforms don't realize that exclusives push gaming forward because the developers push the system that advances gameplay due to the technology. When a new standard of gaming in terms of gameplay is set, other developers try to reach that standard because their gameplay will be considered outdated otherwise. Advancements are not all about graphics. Some games will be iterative and be the previous games with prettier graphics and the rest will push gameplay forward and set a new standard of gameplay that was not possible before due to advancements in technology.

Were all games on every console, none of the consoles would be pushed to advance gameplay because the developers would need to optimize the game to run on all platforms. This is why games exclusive to pc don't push PCs with the newest specs, because developers need to optimize the game to be able to run on different pc setups. That is why I am disappointed with cross gen, because I know the gameplay will be based on previous gen technology. Yet I understand that the games already started development on the previous gen consoles before the announcement of current gen consoles or some developers at some point realize that the gameplay for their game won't be all that different than gameplay of the previous gen and decide to go cross gen.

It’s not 1998 anymore.

All the systems more or less run the same hardware/software.

No they don't. The ps4 and xbox one are not the same as the ps5 and series x.
Yes they are. Same hardware/development software just more powerful. Like a PC upgrade.

The switch 2 is not the same as the ps5 and series x. Not all pc setups are the same,
The development environment is the same.

It’s not like the past where the PS2 hardware/software was vastly different than Dreamcast.

Games made now are extremely scalable, optimizations and development techniques work across generations and hardware manufactures.

PS3 gen was probably the last time there was fundamental technical differences between platforms due to the cell architecture, but since then every console is pretty much a PC.

Even the custom SSD in the PS5 is just a slightly faster version of the NVMe drives already commercially available, and that's why Sony allows you to use those for more space at a cost of slightly longer load times.

:mjlol:They are not the same hardware. One example is Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores. The dlc was exclusive to ps5 despite the base game being cross gen because the ps4 could not run the final boss fight.

Performance would be bad but it “could” run.

It’s not like the past where different generations are running on different technology.

ON PC burning shores scales down to some very low end GPUs compared to the one in the PS4
