A smaller scrappy studio like that, known for high quality remakes, are being incentivized to do GAAS games as part of the portfolio push
They had just got bought and likely didn't have leverage to get a large budget unless they play along and follow the wind
Most if not all of these efforts are failing. Clearly something isn't working and the entire push was a failure

Both Xbox and Sony being managed by dumbasses led to this. Sony went and bought up a million studios trying to go tit for tat with Xbox's buying spree under the assumption they were going to be losing a bunch of big third party IP after xbox made them exclusive. Xbox fumbled and had to close a bunch of studios and put all their shyt on Playstation. Now Sony has a bunch of redundant GAAS studios they bought to replace holes in their third party portfolio that no longer exist.
