i got both a ps3 and a 360... and i don't plan on getting the ps4 or xb1 so i'm not down with that fanboy shyt like most of ya'll fakkits....
... but it seems to me alot of ps4 supporters turn a blind ere to sony doing things that they clowned the x box for doing
MS makes people pay for online multi - "lol at you idiots paying to play games online. their shyt should never have a charge. u already pay for the internet"
sony says people will have to pay to play ps4 online - "um so what...it don't cost that much. $5 a month whoopdeedoo. at least we can use netflix for free online ya fukkin xbots"
MS restricts used games on xb1 "hahahaha you fukkin idiot xbots don't even own the games u buy. you are getting played"
sony gives 3rd party publishers permission to restrict used games (which let's be real, most 3rd party companies WILL utilized "ummmm it's not like sony is rrestricting u, the 3rd party companies are..even though sony gave them the power to do that, it aint really ummm sony's fault...uhhhh halo sucks"
when are u fanboy idiots gunna realize neither sony or microsoft gives a fukk about any of you? take their corporate dikks out your mouths, ya'll looking pathetic
No they wont, it will turn into mass pirating or very low sales. We've been down this road before on the PC which is why they had to relax (PC Trends always translate to the consoles 4-5 years later btw). People want to buy quality content and will deal with DRM as long as it makes sense...this has been proven time and time again.
The problem with Microsoft is the overly aggressive practices that don't really make sense in business. Listen I am all for digital, but let's not get CRAZY here. You cannot fukk over the consumers like this and expect things to be ok. You have basically stripped the purchasing power of the people that make YOU and YOUR PUBLISHERS MONEY and are STILL requiring commitment from OUTSIDE SOURCES TO USE YOUR PRODUCT. That is BAD BUSINESS. What Microsoft SHOULD have done is fit the xbox one with a service similar to what Amazon has provided (Whispernet) in where you can activate 24/7 via some EDGE network for absolutely free...FOREVER. Nothing relied on the consumer's end when it comes to enjoying content THEY PAID FOR. If you've worked up in the chain in business the same motto still applies. The customer pays US to figure out solutions to make things smoother. What Microsoft was trying to push was the opposite of that. You have to try to take care of the customer in every way possible, make things easier and enjoyable...seamlessly. Backup your claim of a "Modern Connected Device" that is completely handled on YOUR END...NO customer requirement outside of them OPTIONALLY wanting to connect their high speed utility to use YOUR "Modern Connected Device"
I have broken down the layers before and will do so one last time in this thread for those who seemingly cannot understand the difference.
The iPad:
Millions of apps, purchased and downloaded apps accessible to you 100% of the time regardless of internet connection. No connection required to "authenticate" yourself. Apple is not stupid enough to come up with this kind of tactic and not follow Amazon's lead with some Whispernet type of service...again provided for FREE.
The XBOX One:
Will have hundreds of games that you have to buy, but not accessible to you if you don't connect every day.
So essentially the XBOX One requires:
An initial $500 investment
an active internet connection because you cant play your games that you payed for (cable internet can range from $30-$100 per month avg)
an xbox live subscription if you want to watch netflix ($50 per year)
You are looking at a $410 per year (low end) costs that you have to spend to get the full functionality of your "Modern Connected Device" before what you want to spend for video/music services.
The iPad:
A $500 investment - All your single player games, apps, and productivity software works all the time. No issues unless you need a software update.
The PS4:
A $400 investment - All your single player games from what I am assuming will be the MASS majority of publishers will work with no issues. Won't work? Take issue with the publisher and don't support them. They should not be charging for online multi either.
The Kindle:
Buy your books wherever you are with no internet connection on your end required. If you bought the Kindle Fire your apps will work without having to authenticate yourself every day as long as its clearly stated that they need an internet connection (for multi-player, streaming, whatever)
The PC (Steam)
Download your games and install them, delete, reinstall as many times as you wish and go offline as long as 30 days as you please. Enjoy your content (This is the way it should be done)
Which sounds like the "Modern Connected Device" to you? Its not the new XBOX One that's for damn sure. I don't even have to go in depth about the ridiculousness of having basic shyt behind a pay wall because nobody on this forum has come up with a legit counter-argument. Don't even bother bringing up the smartphone market either, because that is a completely different thing and a device most find NECESSARY these days.
This shyt is really not that complicated man. The outrage is justified.
