EA can do that right now with every system out there you idiot.

You a dumb fukk or something? Publishers can do this right now on the ps3, 360, wii and wii u, and they have been doing it, look @ online passes and DRM for shyt like Capcom's Final Fight.

Xbone is completely different.
when did i ever say they couldn't do it now? please show me where i said that. how you gonna attribute something i never even said to me then call me an idiot because you thought it up?

i guess maybe the concept of precedent escapes you? Microsoft has now set a precedent for used game blocking DRM on a console. one one side of the fence publishers have their titles completely locked down and on the other its as if it always were for the moment. how likely is that situation to last?

somebody needs to sit him down and ask him this in these exact words.

"Let's say EA puts a code in the box of a game and users have to go online just once and put in that code to activate their game and past that point they never have to go online again. without that code the game in its entirety is unplayable which means if a user gives, lends, or sells the game disc the next user would need a code from EA to activate the game. would Sony block EA from doing that on Playstation 4?"

even if their clarification they're dodging that issue. we're not asking about online passes we're asking about a publisher implementing their own used game blocking DRM through a system they create themselves. they keep asking this question and posting articles about it and when asked about apples Sony is giving an answer about oranges.
online passes are an entirely different animal than publisher build custom DRM.

people aren't forward thinking enough to realize that that's all it takes. if somebody were to do it they'd pick a Call of Duty, an Assassin's Creed, a Madden, or a Battlefield. they'd pick a game that's guaranteed to sell millions because they know people will buy it anyway. after the flood gates open it'll trickle down to lesser titles until its industry wide accepted practice.

If publishers could do that or considered it why didn't they do it this gen?

:snoop: WinB wtf is wrong with you man?

Sony has put this out as clear as they possibly can. You are now posting things that YOU want...not something they SAID or were not clear about.

WinB is one of those nikkas that try to get extremely technical and hypothetical with someone just to sound smart even though the actual point he's making is fallacious.

Scott Rohde stepping on Microsoft's neck.

"Frankly that doesn't make sense to us. You need to pay for a subscription so that you can activate your already paid subscription? That just doesn't make sense"

Haven't I been saying this shyt for YEARS? :laff:
