Straight up, you're a f*cking idiot if you subscribe to this, I don't care if you own a playstation, xbox, wii, or a goddamn original gameboy.
This is a
terrible business model that you should by no means be participating in: you're prepaying for a product that can only improve based on consumer response, thereby giving EA a free pass to never improve their games, and by proxy, hold onto their licenses (NFL) forever.
This is like saying, "damn, I really liked that Stephen King book I just read, I think I'm going to pay Stephen King 5$ a month to have access to his books." OK. Retard. What if his next book sucks. What if he just changes the names of his characters from book 1 to book 2. In a free market, no one would buy it, and it would be 1$ status in a week, and he would be forced to innovate and write a better book.
Now take that model and apply it to the notoriously lazy EA. You like Madden 15? I hope so, because that's all you're going to be playing for the next 5 years. Where's the incentive for EA to
ever innovate if theyre getting their money up front??
You wouldn't pay your rent 6 months in advance, because if your stove breaks, what's the impetus for the landlord to come fix it?? There is none. EA is going to have no reason whatsoever to improve on their games if they can look at their forecast in January and see subscriptions are holding steady--repackage Madden 15 as Madden 17, design a cool graphic for the "EA Storefront", tell you that it's FREE! for EA subscribers, and you think you're getting a good deal.
Video games are literally the worst medium for such a subscription based plan.. I hope those with xboxes stay away from this in droves, because if this model catches on, say goodbye to innovation and progress in gaming.
Can't believe there are gamers excited to pay out to EA on some "I'm loyal, they deserve this

"
