if I got PS4, I'm not gonna be playing PS3 games regularly. and if there was a PS3 title, I really wanted, I'd simply buy it used for pennies on the dollar at this point.

architecture totally different. They'd have to do what they did the launch PS3 and put the chip from the previous playstation in it. Too expensive.

There was no way this was gonna be "free" unless ps+ subscribtion price was increased, by a lot. Maybe a new tier will bundle it in and give a slight sub discount.

They paid ~400 million for Gakai ( service this is based off of)

and they also have to pay the publishers license fees for allowing you the option to rent the game, wether said game gets played or not.

To be fair tho, they really have to find a way to let you use your already purchased games as a DRM of sorts for games on PS now.

Because the game is being rendered on their server farm and not on the system. It is not possible for the ps4 to emulate the cell CPU in the ps3...

You are basically remoting into a server some where with the ps3 games on it and it is being shown on your screen. Its like shareplay but with ps3.

Ps4 would need a software ps3 emulator or the actual ps3 hardware inside the ps4 to run ps3 games locally.

Dude, you smarter than this. Im not saying the prices are good, shyt I don't even know the prices cause I don't wanna rent server time to play old games...BUT you need to admit that giving somebody LIFETIME RENDER ACCESS for a nominal fee is a dumb idea...MS would not do this either.
