As a PS3 and PS4 owner - I hate that I dapped the OP... but this is very true. I also have the Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

It's beyond the games. OP and others did a great job describing these issues.

But it's deeper:

I used to call the PlayStation the WaitStation. I remember wanting to play a game and it had like 18 updates instead of 1 and it took forever. System updates were hell. I actually bought it for NBA 2K7, because I played the demo on Xbox 360 and the store only had it for PS3 and it was a great excuse to buy a PS3 (I was looking for an excuse). Basically - besides the summon cutscenes of FFXIII - PS3 genuinely sucked.

I said 'no. No way I'm copping the PS4'.

So I copped the PS4 and Destiny.

First thing: WaitStation + wtf the menu is the same? Messages to friends didn't arrive. Destiny looked amazing - game was crap: no story? Wtf??

Only good thing: The Wolf Among Us didn't require an install. That is a really good game.

But overall - a really disappointing console experience. Really the only advantage is sometimes I run into a game for cheap for PS4 (a non-exclusive game) and I'll pick it up.

Sony messed up.

The PS4 was an opportunity for Sony to take the overhand. They had it - they literally had the console gamers eating out of their hands at E3 when MS dropped the ball. That moment when they announced that on PS4 sharing games was no problem and the crowd lost it. That is why they more PS4s were sold than XB1s. The end.

Since the xb1 has dropped KI has been getting monthly updates for about 7 months out the year. New characters, modes, stages, the works. It hasn't been hyped and it has a strong competitive scene.
