I said it has RPG elements. Upgrading skills and weapons

fukk you talking about?

Who said TR was game of the year? Everyone marveled at how well the game played and talked about how shytty the story was

And TR 2013 is better than UC3

Dozens of people said it was. I think people were genuinely surprised it wasn't complete crap like they usually were. Outside of the upgrade/skills system, there was nothing TR did that UC hasn't done better. Characters were forgettable and the story was ludicrous and dragged

Semantics. What you see as evolve can be "the same shyt" to someone else.
No. That's how you want to play it to defend uncharted but other games come with very big additions/changes.

So far uncharted has only improved upon what already there. Bigger set pieces, tighter gunplay. But there's really been nothing new.

Even naughty dog realizes this which is why they've done so much talk about the semi-open world of uc4. Depending on how that plays out that could be the big change or "evolution" the series needs. Or It could all be marketing talk with the basic formula going unchanged. But at the very least they realize the need for change.

Characters and story are only part of the equation. Gameplay and world/level design was easily better in tomb raider.

Like I said you're ignoring every thing said about the game to date.

Uncharted 1 to 2 was a big jump.

They added online MP and coop, better controls, better gfx, new weapons, and other improvements but suddenly this don't count as big.

They drop UC3 which is more of the same and suddenly they lost it despite TLOU proving otherwise. Like I said, you nikkas just talking. No matter what they do someone will say its not enough.

Almost every ND game evolved each iteration. Look at Jak, Crash and TLOU. To say they make more of the same is almost stupid. I'm not debating this with clueless gamers.

What was so different and revolutionary gameplay wise that sets TR apart from UC?
The gunplay just felt better.

What really got to me was the tension you felt as underpowered laura trying to fight back with that ice pick. The melee action had a real feel and weight to it. Getting a hit in then scrambling away from the enemies was really tense and felt like a struggle.

In uncharted combat is forgettable. It's not very difficult or tense, melee was basically watching a movie in uc3.

Also the semi-open world nature of tomb raider made it fun to explore and do your own thing, the tombs added another fun thing to seek out and do.

Also the platforming in uncharted was basically on rails, they funnel you down a path and jump when they tell you to. In tomb raider the platforming was more engaging because you the player had to judge the jumps and chose when where to jump to.

Outside the bow, the shooting mechanics aren't better or different then UC. You can modify and upgrade which is cool, but it's pretty much the same. Melee consisted of QTE. Nothing special. I prefer linear gameplay to faux open world level design. If you going to do open world then do it. Not just random environments with collectibles.

No the melee was not just QTE.

And you can't say "outside the bow" which was a very integral part of the experience. So was the modifications and upgrades.

You're basically saying "outside of all the stuff tomb raider did better, they were the same" :martin:

There was nothing "random" about the environments and if semi-open world was a problem to you then you probably won't like UC4

One game... Sit down. Nikkaz been on an infinite loosing streak now you wanna rally behind one game? :russ:

It's about time they got something right.
Not rallying behind anything. I don't even have the game.

Just anticipating furiousness at the OPs opinion.

You've only proven my post right. Thank you:cheers:
