6'8" PF that dominated High school because he was physically overwhelming, that almost never works out when it comes to the NBA.

forget the nba.

his game didnt even transfer well into the ncaa.

why'd his dumbass leave college

he had no choice.

somebody in his camp and/or family messed up his eligibility. dude aint play since like january.

All I see is a undersized PF who wasn't physical enough to dominate the paint and wasn't skilled enough to play the perimeter.

Circumstance. I think his mother took out a sizable loan that a lot of guys (just say Karl Towns for example) take out when they're about to sign a deal because they're obviously gonna be good for it. But she took it out while he was at KU. Cost him a decent portion of this past season & maybe could've cost him next year

Center self, inner self
Go to Kansas and stay for a couple of years. Notice all of the KU players that stayed at least 3 years have had decent pro careers. This rash of one year players that Bill Self is recruiting isn't doing the program any good, because Self doesn't do a good job of coaching them. Wiggins may be the only exception.
Agreed
My brother and I went to Allen Fieldhouse to watch his first game as a Jayhawk. The crowd was hype. He played well, but they almost lost to USC. I can't believe they had him ranked above Kyrie....:wow:
only on rivals, which is known for its football recruiting and not basketball recruiting

man I had forgotten about Jr Giddens

Ok?

You said you never really watched him play.....
I never watched him play. I'm just saying anyone that averaged 9 boards as a freshman should be able to play 4 with his size. You know more about him than I do though. I just hope he can pull a Draymond and make people believers.

Nah, it's the Michael Beasley / Derrick Williams / Thomas Robinson ish, all these guys were similar rebounders in college and all around the same height as Cliff. Physically dominant players, but when they get to the NBA they're no longer the biggest dude on the court and it rarely works out for them.

Draymond in College was a swiss army knife, they played him at the 4 but he did a little bit of everything. These undersized 4s in College that rely on strength and athleticism rarely do well at the next level.

:mjcry: so much truth....I think the twins are still in the league though. But if Bill Self knew how to coach, he should have at least 3 NCAA championships.

I'll never forgive him for losing to VCU with the twins. They were the best team in the nation that year. On pro prospects..he's just now getting elite ones after Wiggins. Wiggins looks like a future star so I'm good.

Somehow I mistook this thread for the other one and was talking about Looney instead of Cliff. That's who I was talking about. I'm already ruling Cliff as the next Lenny Cook.
