Amazon has a growing field (e-commerce, selling tangible goods below market value) and NO OTHER SERVICE IS LIKE IT OR AS FAST AS IT OR AS CHEAP AS IT OR AS RELIABLE AS IT WHOLESALE and yeah I meant to type all of that in bold and large bc you all really don't seem to get it.. Where is PAYING to streaming music online growing to when we have been downloading music for free for almost 15 years.

So in short, while your theory is correct, it's also outdated and not applicable for the online music streaming. Great for unexplored markets though.

Streaming music - as a whole - is experiencing fast growth. Paid and unpaid - it's how people want to consume music more & more. How is it not growing? Why do you think there are still massive companies investing the space? Music consumption isn't going anywhere, so someone, somewhere... is going to get paid. It's been iTunes. Now it's looking like a streaming service will takeover the mantle - probably Spotify.

Given the topic of discussion, I thought it was automatically known I was talking about paid services. Let me clarify even further then.

Paying to stream music on the internet is a dying/dead practice.

iTunes is also not a streaming service, it is a media player. :snoop: If you mean iTunes Radio, which also failed, then thank you for proving my point.

When he does speak out for change people claim he's on that fake "pro black" steez. Some folks just aren't going to like dude period. At this point I think it has very little to do with what he's doing and more to do with the dude who's doing it

That may be true but using Police Brutality to sell Tidal is wack and unnedded. Just keep giving fans dope exclusives like the B-Side concert and keep promoting the service.

Making his streaming service a crusade for Black victims is wrong especially if the familys of victims aren't getting a check from this venture.I like jays music but I can take that out of this situation and admit that it was in poor taste.

These kind of tactics are widely used from politics to news corporations. Who's to say Jay-z can't be successful using it or shouldn't use it? It's not honest or honorable, but nothing is in capitalism.

It's peculiar how Black people see it with 20/20 vision when it's Jay using "these kind of tactics", but aren't as observant when spending their money with others using the exact same tactics.

:francis:

What's wild is that people think it's somehow more profitable to be fake pro Black and pander to 13% of the population when he could just as easily pander to the group with the bigger pocketbooks and higher spending power.

I agree, preachers use these tactics too.

But $120 or $240 a year, is still $120 or $240 a year.

Add insult to injury, he doesn't even thank all his fans for their support, he shiits on them for not spending money on something they probably do not want.

Feels like a low blow, that Jay-Z is not above making.

Its getting to a cult like status at this point.

How do you really feel about it young'n? Let that hatred flow out.

I gives two fukks about their profit sharing.

Where they teach this business model at? You can go to the grocery store and get the cheap bread, you can pay a little more and get the best bread. OR you can pay even more for this mediocre bread so the owner can get his Christmas bonus this year. FOH

Well why talk about anything at all if we have to reach somebody's arbitrary threshold of importance? It's my opinion and I felt like saying it.

Youngin? Pretty sure I'm older then your cake ass breh

Heaven on Earth
IMO the tactical error he keeps repeating is making this venture about him and the people on the stage and not the actual product..Even when he tries to promote the virtues of the product its still about the artists on that stage.. The selling point of "Exclusive Content" has so far been Jack White, Jay-Z and J. Cole concerts or Rihanna and Beyonce songs or videos.. (all share holders)..If you aren't a super fan of a specific artist you aren't gonna give a fukk about that..

Dude is trying to compete with the general consumer market the same way he sells product to his Stans..It seems kinda short sided, because the large majority of the market only cares about how a product will serve their needs..

People didn't use Facebook because they wanted to support Mark Zuckerberg, or the Jewish economy or because they felt young tech guys needed to be compensated fairly for their work....They did it because he offered a service they liked, that beneffited them, that most importantly was free...

If Jay was using his brain he would have been the silent money behind a streaming service that had a niche or price point that the competition didn't have..Selling the people on the stage with him only works for a small percentage of the market that actually really love them...Him having Kanye West on the stage was a clear example of him not thinking big picture...Who was doing the market research that thought having someone so polarizing as the face was a way to compete with the titans?

Stans really care about the artist.. Consumers care about themselves..What do you think makes up the majority of the market?

I understand his frustration, but he's the one that fukked up....It's disappointing that he seems to be giving white folks a pass and putting the onus on Blacks to make it happen when we aren't the ones economically in the position to to have desposible income to spend on trivial sh1t... Besides 90% of the negative press about Tidal has come from non Blacks... Why isn't Madonna outfront guilt tripping women into supporting this female owned venture?

I'm :mjlol:at people not even willing to entertain the thought that Jay would use a hot button topic like Freddie Gray for personal gain. Son brags about being a crack dealer, he's done far worse shyt for less money....but this is where he draws the line?

Dude is a business man first and foremost, above anything else, and this is a chess move. It's a brilliant chess move because people seem to be falling for it, so I'm not even mad at him. He's doing what he's supposed to do.

Fred.
