I fukks with Jay, but I'm not stupid. He's trying to co-opt the press on Tidal and turn it into a Big Man vs. Little man, underdog, black vs. white type of rap feud. He's trying to politic the narrative and make it about the evil white corporation vs. the poor black hustler from Marcy trying to fight the system.

No Jay. You got caught being greedy and out of touch. You don't get to "come home" and make it a hip-hop thing. You don't get to trot Sigel out on stage under the guise of being that relatable dude that's about us.

This ain't about slavery, this ain't about Mike Brown, you don't get to make a martyr of yourself by mentioning those things when it's convenient. The nerve of using those terms while promoting a service that's all about charging more of my hard earned money to provide an inferior product and line your pockets.

You compete with Spotify by providing a better service or a cheaper service, like anything else in the market.
This

I haven't tried Tidal, myself, but; I'm aggy at socially conscience makin' an appearance, now.

you didn't answer my question, I asked why you fail to mention the entry level price. you replied by asking if they have a free option smh

damn 10dollars is to much for people? if 10 a month is to much its best you don't listen to music and go find a job or do overtime.
I mentioned the entry price of $10, that's why I asked about the free option. Cuz...$10 isn't a lot...but you're in your own shoes right now...for good biz decision you have to consider most consumers situations and measure that to your competitions offerings. People have kids that have a million different financial needs...people have financial obligations neither of us could imagine. By offering the service at a $10 price he is offing over half his possible market by letting spotify/pandora undercut him...yes they have a term in business called UNDERCUTTING...it's a strategy used to steal biz from another...but here JZ undercut himself before the comp. could:mindblown:...j is not going up against Nas or Cam here, this isn't a popularity contest, he's going up against college grad business students...this is a diff. ball game:rudy:

Had he used his popularity with a better price point and then raised prices slowly over the years as more and more perks became available he'd be winning this...but starting at $10 (which is often the price of aTANGIBLE cd good) is to high to charge for a NONTANGIBLE good:camby:IF it weren't the competition would have done it already.
They thought being artists people would get behind it because the music is coming str8 from the artists mouths..no middle man... But people don't care. The tidal service will live, possibly, but the collective ego's gott em' sputtering out the gate tho:aicmon:

Now? what u mean "Now?

He spoke on the trayvon incident a year ago

He's visibly showed his support for trayvon and eric gardner even b4 the announcement of Tidal

This idea that he's been this individual devoid of speaking consciously on social issues..is outright falsehoods..

On his albums he speaks on our struggles and injustices a good amount

Have u heard RD?
Have u heard Vol.1
Have u heard Vol. 2

Have u heard American Gangster

Matter fact the fact yall even insinuating this man just became socially conscious due to tidal has to come from a place of either sinful hate or just outright amnesia :mjlol:

Blacks becoming demons towards they own kind :wow:

I'm :mjlol:at people not even willing to entertain the thought that Jay would use a hot button topic like Freddie Gray for personal gain. Son brags about being a crack dealer, he's done far worse shyt for less money....but this is where he draws the line?

Dude is a business man first and foremost, above anything else, and this is a chess move. It's a brilliant chess move because people seem to be falling for it, so I'm not even mad at him. He's doing what he's supposed to do.

Fred.
You have no idea what you're talking about( you never do, you are a bitter old white man that thinks he has a superior level of knowledge on hiphop and movies)

He in no way used social injustices for personal gain. He was ranting and if you ever been around black people conversing social issues we spit in all different directions because the injustices, racism and hatred is all interconnected

Funny a white man would have the audacity to belittle a black man speaking out on something as a move for personal gain to fool the public in enriching Him

Especially when Jay has always spoken out on these topics and he actually helping make a difference in real ways

Man, this dumbass dude only comes in the booth to hate.

Or speak disdain to anyone that doesn't know hiphop history

He's the perfect example of one of those white people that frequent Wu tang shows

Delusional :lolbron:
not at all

jay has more "chips" in his hand than spotify...

jay is playing catch up but he is probably the only artist in the world that can make this happen

owns a management company

he has signed artist.....

his wife shut down the internet with an unexpected album, she could easily do it again with you know who....jay

gave artist equity

oh and guess who will have first dibs when it comes to independent artists making a buzz on his streaming service...that man jay

everything is calculated

give it time

Nobody has ever expected jay to be political

It's corny that he is trying to be now

22 Two's...Politics as usual...:usure:

I don't give a fukk about Beyonce or madonna but I do about indie artists who struggle to keep bringing us music. Do you know any artists? Ask them about their opinion on record sales and downloading. Nikkas pay for netflix without question but when it comes to music it's like :whoa:

U don't know my pockets...but I see u also don't know common bizness sense, like your desired sperm provider Jay Z:scusthov:, u think JZ is good at bizness because he sold u a bunch of CDs over the years. Just a quick refresher for u...Jay has always aligned himself with those who had what he didn't...he latched to Dame to deal with biz cuz he couldn't, he wife's B, not only cuz she bad, but because she has a fan base that unlike his will never quit(that base adopts him per se), he went and kicked it with Warrne Buffet and Bill Gates...he gets a TOKEN president position at defjam, and he sort of gets involved in the sports game and u declare him Lee Ioka or Jack Welch or sum shyt. He gets dough, yes, but your stanning is making me nauseated:snoop: you should look at the entire corporate roster at Roc Nation and see who's pullin what strings...Live nation is NIKKA...the roc part just markets to the young urban star and consumers, it's the same as an urban label at Columbia...the umbrella covers all...but the urban label helps pinpoint the urban consumer. Don't love an artist more than common sense:huhldup:.

Applaud this man, I was going to make a thread about this. With all of issues this past year and now all of a sudden he and Beyonce wants to come out and take pictures and show support when they have something to promote. This was the nikka who had nothing to say about that store Barneys who was arresting black people just for making a purchase in the store and he refused to pull his product away from the store....but now he cares?
