Also, it's in a label's best interest to protect their artist from making dumb decisions since their value can depreciate. I understand what you're saying it's not their responsibility, but if you sign these artists when they're young, then I feel labels should put stuff in place for them. Of course, the reality is that's most likely not available to them. I also feel the same way about sports where teams should have programs in place to protect players on their team.
