In the sense they'd be paying the tax again yes, but if winning was the top goal, the option to leave money for other free agents or trade is there. They left money on the table before. Personally I'll leave cash on the table to up my odds of a title. We don't get income tax in Florida anyway :manny:. I think the best option would have been take a 1 or 2 year deal in Miami and assess things after that.
Maybe

But the point you were making was Lebron leaving 2 more rings on the table. Idk if that's possible. If Bron stays, Bosh probably leaves imo. He wanted the max.

You bring in Gasol and while he having an Indian Summer in his career, Bosh>>>Gasol.

I still think it's a healthy Chicago's year.

While this is true there is only so much any FO can do with no cap space and draft picks in the 20s, if they have picks at all. Let's keep it 100 Mia's FO has been all about trading for or signing stars...that's been the key to all of their success along with Wade being drafted. Outside of the Big 3 wasn't shyt to trade and this was a top heavy team to begin with. You can't compare it to Jordan and Pippen because for one it was a different salary structure and both were sorely underpaid for years. And it was a different league. You could have two superstars and one star all in their 30s and dominate the league. Way too much talent in the league now.
You make a lot of good points, but ultimately it would have come down to if they were willing to play for less to stick together and get a supporting cast that was up to the challenge. These guys contracts are more than I'd ever need so I'd leave some on the table to spread the money on the roster. Endorsements more than cover that loss anyway.

Neither was Steve Kerr, but if you have players that buy into your system, the shyt can work. If your best player won't even acknowledge you, what chance do you have?

kerr knew but he hired a bunch of assistants who have NBA coaching experience on their resume.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree that I think the Bulls are the east favorite, but we could have lured pau here too if James stayed. He would have had to leave lots of cash on the table though.

If guys were willing to take even less money then sure but on the flipside how you gonna ask dudes that just brought you 2 titles and 4 appearances and untold fortunes from merchandising and all the hype and hoopla surrounding the team to take paycuts? :ld: If everyone involved was putting championships first and foremost, over money, over ego, over feelings etc. then they could have made it work, however it's clear that wasn't the case.

I don't think Blatt got to choose. His associate head coach was the runner up to the head coaching gig. Other assistants were either with the Cavs last year or their d league affiliate.

Larry Drew is the other new guy and I doubt he was a Blatt hire

no, I think Gasol comes to Miami.

But I think Chicago has more for you guys even without Pau as they have a lot of cap space with boozer being amnestied and Butler's ascension..

Then you have those monsters out west. I dont think Miami wins a title this year.

Then you have next season. Im just not convinced 2 rings were lost with Lebron going back to Cleveland.

I dont think LeBron wants any of his NBA legacy tied to white coaches. :troll:

But on the real, he has been really disrespectful to Blatt. And he doesnt seem to have the wind or legs on a lot of nights.
