I liked like the first 10 issues of Spawn then it was just a bunch of stories some interesting some not so. I think I started to lose interest around when Spawn beat the Violator for x time. I did read issue 50 though, that's when Spawn used up all his power and the timer went to zero and Spawn goes back to hell. He does a little fighting and then goes back to earth don't exactly remember how but I pretty much lost interest after that. I did read some spoilers recently to see what happened since and it's pretty much more of the same and you found out more about the old man who talks to spawn

This aint' a role for Denzel so he's out of the question. I can't picture Cheadle, Foxx, or Howard as Spawn neither. So maybe the Academy Award winner won't actually be Spawn but another character in the movie.
why not go the route and introduce haunt in this movie if possible

It was PG-13 which made it feel like a kiddy friendly cartoon...
You cannot in anyway shape or form capture the brutality in Spawns world with a pussified rating...
I agree with you on MJW though, he was perfect for the roll and still is...
it they do make this film they should add some fight scenes with maybe overtkill or cy-gor
The first issue of spawn that I bought was the one with a child killer that drove an ice cream truck. Reading that had meId like to see a chapel flick with Elba or Michael Jai White. Who remembers wet works/waiting forever for it to drop? That sh!t was detox status. I gave up hope on it ever coming out. Image had some of the illest art at that time-to me anyways.

The OG run of "Spawn" was fukking incredible. Who remembers the pedophile serial killer that Spawn killed? Then the next ep was about him in hell. shyt was bananas.
Or issue 10, where McFarlane shyt on the whole comic industry? Showed Batman, Superman, Wolverine, etc....mad super heroes in chains in hell because their creators sold the rights to Marvel and DC:

That was billy kincaid, he became a spawn later on in the violator mini series when he tried to choke out a little girl who was one of the violators brothers in disguise, when spawn went to speak to malebolgia in hell he tried to come at simmons but quickly got his head cut off in one panel, then his spirit came back from the dead and started jumping into people making them do horrible things, he almost got at al since he was weakened twitch came through with the toast and put one in his brain.
I remember it was superman who was locked away in a cage who was like telling al to not give up hope or something i cant remember.
Al did get his face restored for a short while but it rotted away right before he got to see wanda again

Yeah that was the first spawn I bought. That last panel that had kincaid hanging with Ice cream scoops stuck in him... 
I have the superhero issue too. I think it had superman in a cell and the only thing he said was "....doomsday". I'm pretty sure that was it. I might go dig through my boxes and reread some of those.
