Why do we keep talking about people having weddings going into 20k debt???

If you and/or your spouse doesn't have money saved up you shouldn't be getting married anyway.

Don't rush into a life long commitment to soon.

Back in the day people didn't "charge" their weddings.
well thats not reasonible either due to college loan debt. aint no way you're going to pay off 100k or 80 k or 50 k before you hit 30 and change. and usually thats when people get married, mid 20's to late 20's to early 30's. the lady's clock is ticking so if you want to do the kids thing. you better do it then or it may never happen.

So you will be in some kind of debt on average due to college loans.

It's their day really. I got no problem with that...but best believe they're coming in with their half of the $$$$. If there isn't a 50% contribution at minimum then there's no wedding.

Told my girl that. She's cool with that. But when the conversation started she wanted 150+ people wedding and I calmly pulled out a calculator, sat with her and did the math. We bout to have a 8 person wedding. :lolbron:

Once they gotta pay....they go from :blessed: to :mjcry:

Pulled out a calculator :mjlol:

Thats pretty much the fade to black moment...

Buy what you can afford. Here's a thought. There are folk here saying spending big money on a ring is retarded. I think spending big money on the wedding ceremony is retarded.

Think about how much you spend on a car....and that mahfukka depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot. A ring will either hold its value or go up. So it's at least an OK investment.

Horrible analogy breh :wow:

If I buy a car, it's for me though. Plus a car actually has usefulness. There's no usefulness in a ring. It does NOTHING. You're spending 10k on an item that you don't get to keep, you don't get to use (and I'm 99.9% you don't even care about) all because a white executive a few decades ago decided to use the wedding industry as a marketing tool :heh:

Let's face the facts here.

Women know weddings and wedding rings are ridiculously expensive and clearly not worth the money.

But they don't give a shyt.
Why?

Because.

Because what?
Just because. These women have no answers. They just want the shyt.

I've been on a crusade to free these hoes from the shackles of the wedding industry. I got dragged to a wedding recently and had that convo with some of the girls their. It was hilarious how silly you can make these girls sound when you flip the script and tell them you want some $7000 rims as part of your engagement :troll:

When we got home my girl said she's willing to do the justice of the peace now :wow:

I still low key think she lying though :birdman:

You brothers should flip the game and only buy expensive rings for women who's father's are footing the wedding bill. Don't let ladies pick and choose the wedding traditions that only benefit them. :mjpls:

you answered your own question. paying ridiculous money for a ring is a corporate hoax. Ladies go for it because the ring is shiney. what they do not know is this tradition of buying ridiculous priced rings is not a regular person's tradition. it came from the people trying to sell you diamonds. meaning its a corporate made up gesture. so they have swindled all of us into believing we have to buy these giant rings or women think if they dont get a ring worth X amt it means their man doesnt love them or some nonsense like that. complete foolery.

Dont be fooled by a corporation trying to get your money.

I triple dare a coli lady respond to this post.
chick in here said "my ring should cost 5 thousand dollars" :dead:

you really have to think what that 5 thousand entails, and why you think that in the first place

i mean its not different than wanting a certain high end brand of car...but you buy yourself the car :dead:

I'm not hating on marriage but the idea of spending thousands on a ring is crazy. My boy spent 10K on a ring and it put him further in debt. He already has a car loan, student loans and now has to plan for a wedding and buying a house. Why should a man spend thousands on a ring when that money can be used towards a house, wedding or paying off other debt....
Why didn't he just save up for the ring? Or get something cheaper? Did he even talk to the woman?
