The prosecution doesn't always have to reveal the identity of CI's. Usually they try to avoid doing that at all costs:
Learning the Identity of a Confidential Informant
The defendant can request the identity of the CI if he can prove that it's relevant to the case....but there's all kinds of loop holes to get around that. For example, if there's other evidence independent of the CI's information, then the prosecution doesn't have to reveal his identity.
If it was as simple as "this person snitched, here's the paper work"....there would be no accusations. Only proof.

Just look at the Thizz case. PSD’s government name wasn’t in the paper work he was named CI in the paperwork. But Dubee put it together. For example in that case...
“On whatever date it was, CI(PSD in this case) was caught trying to board a plane with a bag of E pills on his body”
He ended up cooperating. Dubee got his paperwork and while PSD’s name wasn’t in their, it’s not hard to piece together who the snitch was.
