Not really as I only tried it for like a minute. The things lowered aren't going to be especially noticeable unless you're looking for it. I think it's a good compromise.

Kinda whack that it’s coming at a time where I’m 90% done with the campaign and I’ve done all the side quests already.

I'm gonna compare both modes on my CX after I beat the game since I only have 1 mission left

yeah dynamic 4k WITH ray tracing
this is a game changer
if both rt modes look identical in terms of graphics there might no point in playing in fidelity mode ever again
I expect all of Sony's first party games to have performance rt now
Dynamic 4k is the same thing they did with Halo 5.
Basically some stuff is rendered in 4k and other assets are in 1080p.(in halo 5 you can see it very clearly. The objects in the foreground are rendered in 4k and the further away from the foreground the more clearly you can see that everything far away is rendered in a much lower resolution and the frame rate of objects in the mid and background are slower as well).
I just tried the new performance mode with dynamic 4k 60fps and the game looks amazing. I have to play it more to see how it handles the “dynamic” resolution but in a brief 20 minute play time I think the game looks amazing and is a big improvement from the standard 30fps 4k ray traced mode that I was using for the now 90% of the game that I’ve played
Holy crap! Ya’ll didn’t tell me they freakin went OFF with this last level. My goodness that boss fight! The music! The Graphics! The action! The freakin story! 
edit: yo I really messed up sleepin on this game. Once you have everything unlocked the combat goes through the roof. I just finished the game on spectacular. Some of the mission types were bland but the majority of the game is flames. Easy 8/10 and I can’t say enough how incredible the last level and especially the last fight was.
