gentification is way less about race than it is money.

I know people will argue this though.

Race is still tied to money...So I don't know if its more about economics or race. Because the demographics that get swapped out are always the same color....Every time over the last 40 years or so...

But you could say that based on my earning potential...that i'm pro-gentrification...cause I DO want to live in these areas.

Black people and poor people need to stfu and stop complaining. Go somewhere you can AFFORD the cost of living, live a decent life and most importantly, OWN your property, businesses, neighborhoods, schools, etc
alot of people are complaining but aren't seein it for what it really is. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, our neighborhoods went to shyt and you couldn't give away the property, it would have been a great opportunity for some black capitalistic minds to come in a sweep up everything and bank. But we didn't, we were in total disarray and the train flew right by us.

I remember in 06' I spoke with a white dude at a community meeting in Harlem, and he told me about how you couldn't give away a lot o the brownstones in the area back in the 80s. So what did he do? He claimed a few for next to nothing, paid the back taxes in a government program, held on to them and now (at that time) he was telling me that they were worth 1.2 mill or something like that. Same shyt is about to happen in Detroit.

what's harlem new name?

Harlem Hills

It's still Harlem breh

Spike did malcolm X justice.....dude needs to go back to that and make movies about black historical figures. Fredrick Douglas, Marcus Garvey and Elijah Muhammad are long over due.

There needs to be an audience for those movies
People always say this, but don't support the few ones that come out. No one saw the Mandela film; Red Tails(Tuskegee Airmen movie); Rosewood, Great Debaters. You want to see a Garvey film, then purchase a LEGAL copy(digital or DVD) of the films I listed above or a Hidden Colors, then you'll start to see the films that you want to see made.

The way movies are being made at $100 million nobody going to invest that money for marcus harvey or others and only see a revenue of $15 million.

We do more talking than supporting.

Music, food, clothing, social events, social phenomena, language, etc

well most young/progressive people with money tend to seek those environments in the first place.

They love trying to embrace areas with " an edge" and it gives them something to talk about.

Everything is cyclical.

The point is to stay ahead of the curve.

No longer can you just sit in an area and just live on til you die.

If you want that feel, you have to be willing to move.
