Not at all. I would love to live in a community that had NO national chains and corporations and everything was small businesses in the local economy.
This is 2014 though...not the 70s and 80s. You can't go backwards entirely.
Most of the "small businesses" exist only in VERY few places in the nation like entire cities for rich people like the hamptons, rich hollywood, or mountain/ski resorts/destinations out west.
Chains are going to exist.
WHICH chains however, is a different argument.
I'd rather have Trader Joes and Costco's over kroger and walmart
