So it's '96, that Bad Boy R&B sound is rollin', and Timbaland is gettin' off the ground, as is 'Neo-Soul'... what you got??

When I think of R&B in 96, No Diggity automatically comes to mind. Touch Me Tease and Only You remix comes tied in 2nd for me. Down Low remix>>>>. Honorable mentions include Isley Brothers's Float On remix and Gina Thompson The Things You Do remix. As @DANJ! said, Bad Boy really had 96 on lock with the R&B remixes.

TOUCH ME, TEASE ME gets my vote.

Aaliyah - one in a million was '97.
mary j blige's "not gon cry" should be on here, but she had a questionable entry already so its whatever.
I'm shocked nothing from "waiting to exhale" made it on here.

played that album two days straight just last week, not a weak link on there :justwow: it's clearly the GOAT r&b soundtrack, and i'd even say GOAT soundtrack period. babyface showed the fukk out. one thing that hit me tho, all those artists they put on there and didn't have monica do a track, that's weird, maybe there were label politics at play.

It is weird. There's a story where Monica talks about having to re-record what would become her sophomore album because her voice changed in the middle of recording. Maybe that had something to do with it.

This song might've been intended for the soundtrack, but didn't make the cut for whatever reason:

^^^ Sounds more fitting for Waiting to Exhale than Space Jam
