SPIN: Imagine getting locked up in 2006 and released in 2019

My cousin got locked up in 2006 and got out in 2012.

This nikka kept asking me “let me borrow some of your CDs and mixtapes for the whip”

I said “nikka nobody uses CDs anymore, we all got IPods and iPhones”

He was like “what’s an IPhone?”


I showed him all the new technology at the time and walked him through how to use it and anything. This nikka still kept asking me for CDs for like 3 months. I kept telling him I don’t have any fukking CDs, yet he still kept asking just out of habit.

He was still rocking Air Force 1s and jean shorts. It took him like 6 months to fully adjust.



I’m not sure if this could happen now because nikkas have been smuggling smartphones into prison for a while, but that shyt was funny as fukk at the time.

I still had mine. This was before streaming services took over so music used to take up way more space on the device. I used to have an ipod and my phone seperately.

I miss them days of keeping my iTunes lookin fresh

I still had my late 2000s version of the IPod Nano at the time. I kept it around until I lost it like 2 years later. I never bothered buying a new one.

I always liked my Nano even with a smartphone because it was smaller and easier to carry around at the gym.
