LeBron didn't do anything wrong but feed into what the media made him to be, and then subsequently get blamed for it.
I think doing 'The Decision' was stupid, and that his pr team (or homie Maverick, whatever) should've headed that off, but we had already made him the most important person in the sport. So what's an ESPN special to the most important person to the sport? Nothing.
But America for some reason values loyalty in their athletes. They expect it out of them, even though, as we saw with Peyton Manning and Jim Irsay, these teams will drop you and never look back. So it became, "oh, LeBron left Cleveland, he's not loyal, fukk that negro." LeBron was just looking out for self. For basketball reasons, I don't like teaming up to win a 'chip, but he did what he had to do. I'm not about to vilify the man.
Face it, LeBron was never going to win it in Cleveland, and nobody else of HOF caliber was going to sign with Cleveland, If Lebron would've gotten injured and had to sit out the majority of the season, the Cavs would've drafted a fairly decent player, but he was basically stuck with a lot of AI's hand me downs, Eric Snow, Larry Hughes.
talk about Bron everyday. ESPN playing chess Bron playing checkers. He's a grown man he could've said it was a bad idea, he should have been able to see the backlash coming.
I don't think he deserves the amount of hate he gets though.
