how bout Common's debut?
I'm wondering what standards y'all are judging this album based off of tho,mighta bee better than alotta albums that came out at the time but it wuz alotta records that came out at that time that wuz better than 2pacalypse Now....callin it classic is a reach
.....u gotta not only compare it to his own influences I think as well as Pacs standards....u know how many of the greats have albums that are "better than alotve nikkas shyt
"....just about all of em,but we gon call Blueprint 2,Nastradamus,War and Peace classic just becuz its better than "alotta nikkas shyt".....it don't match the standard Pac later set for himself,and for its time it don't live up to the standard of Cubes work or Public Enemys works which were his greatest influences.
But we gon act like him lackingthe great producters and production teams the other goats had at they disposal being considered the best rappers in the game or just having the right connections didn't help they cause....take the great producers away from most of them nikkas and they just look like potential with standout tracks too
.....the fact he had so many standouts I think shows he wu capable of making a classic album out the gate for everything he mighta lacked as a rapper at that time,if he also had the right production/producer
As he starts to get more consistency on production,fukin wit Johny J u see how quik shyt turn around,then by the time he reaches Makaveli he's at a level where the production is more of a afterthought than many of these other greats can say even in they primes
...with his powerful delivery,content,flow and the fact he sayin so much the beat kinda plays the background at this point....as much as I feel like I like the beats on 7thday theory there's quite a few beats on it I would consider useless to sumbody who wuznt a great rapper which Pac wuz at that point.
