Raekwon. I know, most fans from our era or rap taste will say Rae is great. Having only one classic album isn't what dings him, it's that he only has that one great album in his youth or prime. Despite the fact he was easily a top 5 rapper in 1997, and went toe for toe with Big Pun twice in 1998 (Firewater, John Blaze). It's a crime we didn't get a RZA helmed Rae album that year, and I think that alone would put Rae in high conversations when it comes to lists and shyt like that.

Raekwon is one of the illest wordsmiths I ever heard in my life . His growth from 36th Chambers to Forever is incredible.

IMO, Danny Brown, when he isn’t rapping in an annoying crackhead-falsetto, is the best o/a emcee, songwriter & lyricist out of the underground style of rappers that came out in the early 2010s. XXX and The Hybrid are the absolute best Hip Hop albums that dropped last decade imo, also the most replayable. They don’t sound like anything else that dropped and the rapping & writing is incredible.

He fell off after that run but he doesn’t get the credit he should get for those two projects.

Fiend, Mia X and Mystikal right there too

Serv On never got the props but he was really good. Lord Infamous, Field Mob, Gipp, Khujo are others. Prince Po and Malik B too, basically guys that were outshined by that one member of the group/duo(The Big Boi award). MJG, Phfife, Talib Kweli, etc.
Add Kane and Abel

Oschino - check out his post-Roc stuff. O has it...he's just too embedded in the streets
Freeway - another that once I got past the unorthodox flow, his bars are crazy
Streetlife for another KillaBee
Yukmouth
Masta Ace doesn't get enough credit either
