I wouldn't mind his verses if he had more guests on his albums, kind of like what Dre did with The Chronic and 2001. That's not to say his albums aren't great achievements, but his ego holds him back from making that true pop masterpiece. Maybe now that he has a group of emcees that can hold their own as primary guests, he can funnel his production talents through Pusha and create an ungodly masterpiece, but I think his ego still plays a big part in his music. You're just going to have to settle with his verses.

Kanye on his first album was rapping about Jesus, his self conscious image, his accident, the education system, the difficulty in getting signed, etc. You didn't think this through.

Be honest, were you even listening to music when Kanye came out? Meaningful content on a mainstream level was practically dead before then. He did the opposite of what you're saying.

Kanye is indirectly responsible for this shyt and I have always thought it. Still doesn't change the fact that College Dropout was a great album and Late Registration was a damn master piece. However, if he had been the musical force(producer and composer) behind these movements instead of the 'face" and performer of it I think it would have not ushered in this current lane we are in.
