Completely agree. But the Tim and Jay ratio is too hit or miss.

With that CLASSIC that was "Nicca What, Nicca Who?" you got:

"Lobster & Scrimp" = cool
"Paper Chase" = ehhh
"It's Hot" = ehhh
"Snoopy Track" = TRASH
"Big Pimpin'" = CLASSIC
"Is That Yo' Chick" = CLASSIC
"Hey Papi" = had to grow on me
"Too Many Hoes" = cool
"What They Gonna Do" = should not have happened
"Dirt Off Your Shoulder" = should not have happened
"Holy Grail" = should not have happened
"Drunk In Love" = yuck
Those are all fire imo

i see what you're saying but tim's sound is banger oriented so the spitting has to go with the beat mostly without being anything special...

THIS.

You can't just pull out your notebook. You have to really listen to Tim's tracks and figure out how to do something that matches up with his melodies. This is easier for R&B artists than rappers, because rappers are used to spitting a steady stream of words over the beat, without significant pauses.

This is a good example.... this beat is ill, but you can't really just rap to it so Banks laid an egg.

^^^ Type of joints rappers act like they afraid to cop from Timbaland. Any MC that's great shouldn't have any trouble gettin' busy over those beats, but since those are the joints they don't cop, we are stuck with Tim & Magoo rhyming over them. I stand by the argument that Timbaland & Magoo's Welcome To Our World is one of the greatest produced Hip Hop albums ever. Give those beats to Biggie, Jay, Nas, Kast, or any great MC and you possibly have one of the GOAT Hip Hop albums.

I kinda agree with you. That Writing Rhymes beat :noah: I used to run this album whenever I was driving to/from the US. Most of those beats are dope.

I've always said that this is one of the most wasted beats of all time:

By the way, did you fukk with Deliverance? I keep hearing y'all talk about that album but I'm yet to hear one great beat on that shyt. Tried to listen to that album a number of times and got bored.
