nah I feel like east coast cities are less lenient with smaller bordering cities, counties, suburbs. I live in PG county and I would never say “I live in DC”. Same with the burbs outside of Philly and in south jersey.

Yes because if someone is from Capitol Heights they're gonna rep Capitol Heights until they die before saying they're from DC even though they're literally across the street from each other. And people in DC will not hesitate to let them know they're from The County not The City. We love each other but there are clear distinctions between DC and it's suburbs
