Spin from the Biggie & Pac threads.

Its crazy as I can remember the year it happened (2001) but I can't remember news coverage of it, only family members discussing it after it happened, its crazy as those Al Quada goons came though and literary crushed the buildings in NYC a few days later :damn:

A lot of Airplane related L's that year, Aaliyah plane crashed, 9/11, a plane crashed in NYC in November of 2001. :wow:

I remember this song came out in 02 with DMX all :to: at the beginning of the video...

Dope song... a lot of cameos in the video.

i was a bit of a fan, was just a shock when i heard she died. nothing like Pac or BIG tho because i'm not a fan of her like that & she wasn't a figure in RnB like Pac was in Hip Hop either.

I was listening to her the album she released weeks prior heavily. Then came the news that she passed in a plane crash. Radio was playing "Rock The Boat" and a lot of her older material. I discovered a lot of remixes and songs that I didn't even know existed prior to her passing.

it was sad with her being a young female entertainer, and the way she went out was horrific.

but to keep it real, these threads have run their course. her death didnt warrant a thread like this. it didnt effect society or the culture. it wasnt of pac, eazy, JMJ or biggie proportions.

rip to her tho. no disrespect. it hurts to think about what happened.

It's always sad when people die but it wasn't a noteworthy thing for me at the time. I thought she had a couple dope songs, not the voice of a generation

It was early in my 8th grade year, my homeboy mom worked at the airport, and told him the news,( before it hit airwaves) he then called me and told me about Aaliyah being killed in a plane crash, my reaction was :stopitslime: then an hour later Sway from MTV had a blank look on his face breaking the news that Aaliyah passed, that next day in school everyone was talking about it.
