Jay got outshined by the production on Blueprint, and now looking back some of the production sounds dated. Jay didn't think the one hot album average through enough before he dropped that line.

Besides his first 2 albums what nas album is as good as reasonable doubt, blueprint, American gangster or the black album? Even the vols and the dynasty are better than a lot of nas albums

Nas has illmatic, it was written and stillmatic. (we are not counting lost tapes).
In no way is stillmatic better than any of those Jay z albums I mentioned.

I guess as an artist I've grown to appreciate different opinions and see things in songs that most dont. I've sat in soooo many sessions with so many big artists and then am apart of the fan community to see the responses on the other end. I've seen so many people turn okay beats into bangers and select tracks that "worked" better over those those that would have sounded better for the sake of the message...so in that sense I can see how my opinion is skewed.

Thing is, outside of Kingdom Come and MCHG, people tend to gloss over the filler on Jay's weaker albums. Like, when was the last time you heard anyone even mention the best of both worlds 1 & 2?

Blueprint 2 was garbage but still in the timeframe of the Nas beef so everybody ran to see if jay had one more jab to throw on his way to the canvas.
It being a double disk made people say wow that's a classic..smh..

American Gangster is not a classic. Black album is arguable. RD is a classic imo but let's not act like people were calling it so before Jay went on this campaign to deem it so.

Absolutely. All MCs...except 2 or so...have wack albums. But this thread is just pointing out that Jay has more than probably any other highly regarded MC.
And yea, you could probably add on Best of Both Worlds 1 and 2. I like BOBW 1 but alot of people were disgusted by it and BOBW 2 was laughably bad.
Nas has one collabo album, Distant Relatives, and it is stellar.
