I was just thinking about this. The military would quash any mass conflict quickly. Unless there is some fundamental breakdown in government. Plus, both political parties are too corporatist to have some knucklehead civilians fukking up the the economy. Lmao imagine dying at the Battle of Walgreens or some goofy shyt.

Not sure but somehow as usual black people will suffer the worst.

It'd be closer to the Troubles in Ireland if anything, and that'd be saying it midly.

I feel like people envision civil war with an 19th-to-early-20th century mental framework, probably because the American Civil War is still the dominant national frame of reference. People think of battlefields and cleanly delineated warzones and sides. A civil war in this era would look like most other wars from this era. Stochastic terrorism and asymmetrical guerilla activities. Think of Afghanistan or Vietnam. Not much the big, centralized force of the US Federal military can do against a mass shooting at a public gathering, or a bombing of public utilities, to say nothing of cyber warfare.

Civil war could happen but it would
Not be in the sense of the 1800s it would be a far more spread out fight with militias forming people tend to not realize there a lot of heavily armed Americans who got enough food and stock who have been preparing for some wild shyt the most reasonable sense of civil war would be a domestic terrorist group who have numbers possibly in thousands that could launch successful attacks against military and police the r would be hella low but it could inspire other radicals imagaine a group of militias/terrorist are able to do. 9/11 three times in one day because there. A domesticated terrorist group

My belief is that it would be skirmish based, if it would happen at all. Proper battle lines won’t be drawn. Strongholds might exist within cities/towns.

I believe militias would act of their own accord but operate within a wider network.

Trump wants/ed to antifa to be the wider network, and his rhetoric has been a successful to a degree.

I think active military would be deployed more for deterrence of full on violence than acting on behalf on one side, however shyt could pop off, if active men take up sides with one group.

Look at a place like Colombia. Small bands roaming the country sides and mountains massacring anyone who isn't on their side or helped the opposing side. Along with never ending terrorist attacks in the cities.

I think it would look a lot like the middle east and that isn't something to just be like "oh...no big deal.." literally nothing could get done without some type of threat from within and people in this country blend in so well..

You see the Trump dude with the stickers on his truck and after Biden won the election he wiped it clean and went back into hiding? Sure, you can look at him and be like oh he's white and has a truck he's probably a Trump supporter most likely..

But instead of being loud and proud and waving his flags around and likely attending rallies and shyt with his militia buddies he is now blended back into society like none of happened, except his neighbors do know him but what's to stop him from moving somewhere else?

It'd be like that on multiple "sides" where different groups are trying to blend in and then hit different targets whether it's cyber or other..

That is still complete chaos and it's unable to be fully controlled if it ever gets to that point.

You can't just say "we're going to send the military over x" and that is going to neutralize what that person or group is trying to do. They don't wear uniforms.
