shyt is so addicting, and all I've been playing is the first mode

This might be the best game Nintendo's made since Galaxy :lupe:
I can't quite say it's the "best" Nintendo game made since _____ because it's still early but the gameplay and premise of the game is sooo fun and addicting.

I hope they build on this and go full on Mario Kart like adding maps and shyt from other Nintendo IP's and going crazy. I'd love for Nintendo themed map packs and characters as well as a slew of new modes/weapons. The gameplay they have now is excellent. I get a rush when an enemy gets close by.

They nailed the length of time for everything. It literally searches matches fast as hell, no loading screens and the matches are perfect length.

I feel the same way too. I tried the demo but wasn't feeling it. I'm gonna cop the retail game and see how I like it.

(sorry about image compression, Twitter)

The N-Zap '85 is coming to #Splatoon, along with the new Port Mackerel map - and they're coming TONIGHT!

...and if that wasn't enough, Ranked Battle mode will also be unlocked for play!

I bought this not knowing the aiming was based on motion controls....I don't like it brehs:francis:

Does anyone know if I can turn the motion shyt off :mjcry:
Yea you gotta finish the first level tutorial. Once you get dropped in the city centre part, click options on the gamepad and turn it off. There's actually articles out about how bad the motion controls are and not to use it. Once you turn it off though, the game plays more like GTA with the controls.

I almost puked playing with the motion on. I dunno wtf they were thinking with that shyt.

This game is fun and addicting as hell. I played for roughly three hours, about two and a half in multiplayer and 30 minutes or so in the singleplayer, so I only played on two maps so far but it's really cool. shyt is stable as hell, I'm connecting with players all over the globe without any lag or connection issues and rarely takes more than 10 seconds to find a party (if it takes longer, it's because there's no similarly ranked player so it's searching outside of the box). I'm surprised most of the matches are pretty well balanced too because when you get overrun it's pretty much always due to some dumb fukks who don't understand you gotta cover as much territory as possible and keep hanging around in the same spot like it's all good.

Weapons are pretty balanced as well. I read most people find the roller overpowered but it really only is good for covering terrain. With a bit of a leveled up gun they're easy as hell to take out so as long as you don't let them run rampant they're not anymore of a threat than other players.

And I turned off the motion controls. I tried them at first but gave them up after like two matches because why they fukk would I wanna play with a learning curve when I can just switch to dual sticks and play like I'm used to in every other third person shooter?

Well sir, you ever play Super Mario Kart?
In the first one, Donkey Kong and King Koopa were the fastest racers. But they start off the slowest
In a similar fashion, you not ready for King Koopa status, but with practice? You will be finishing in first place more times than not
Of course people hate learning curves these days, attention spans last about 42th's of a second
Its your life, fukk it over if you want :manny:

It has nothing to do with practice. You got motion controls that are new and then you got traditional controls which I'm already experienced with. I see no reason to hold myself back in an online competitive game to get used to the default controls of the game when the option not to use them is right there.
