ARE U A FEMINIST?
Does not hating women make me a feminist in your view? :russ:

Not in the real world, I don't call myself a feminist and no one I know would call me one. Sorry if just stating facts triggers you.

COULDNT BE MY TEAM
This is a substitute elementary school teacher who takes orders from women every day. :mjlol:

You're a Lakers fan, right? So your whole team ran by a woman?

I dont think a woman can properly manage conflict with or between men. I dont think they can deal with all the testosterone driven tension in a locker room. I think most womens first reaction to managing men is to try and "out man" men which isnt a good or sustainable strategy.

I saw someone mention the military and how the military has Female Officers but as @concise put it, Officers get paid more and are considered more "prestigious" than those under their command, so they have the backing of the institution when conflict happens.

But even with the military, you almost NEVER see Women leading combat arms organizations (i.e boots on the ground combat). I think its the same principle of Women cant manage those types of macho organizations (at least until you get a generation of seasoned women in combat arms).

I guarantee you most of these white male head coaches don't either. That's why you normally have locker room vets to do that.

No interviews for Ewing or
Mark Jackson huh..
:stopitslime:

Ewing (and Stack) never should've went to college. Now he's had the challenge of having to recruit players and coach at the same time. Ewing's record works against him now.

Ewing's record at Georgetown is extremely average (.512 regular season, .371 playoffs) and he hasn't developed any NBA prospects in his 4 years there. Stack's record is even worse, but at least developed two guys and gotten them into the league (Aaron Nesmith and Saben Lee).

What would it even mean to have my views "align with feminists"?

I think men and women should have the same rights and be allowed to do the same things but women should have to qualify by the same standards that men qualify with. I think men should have the same rights in custody hearings as women do. I think boys (especially black boys) are discriminated against in elementary school and some legal situations and I think women are discriminated against in most high-paying workplaces. Does that make me a feminist? Doubt it.

Coming up the ranks? She been an assistant on one team for 7 years. :russ: Patrick Ewing was a assistant for 15 years and had to go to college to get a head coaching gig. Monte Williams was an assistant coach for 15 years on 4 different teams before he got a gig. Its tons of coaching who actually worked their asses off on multiple teams, and moved up the ranks to get a head coaching gig. Spurs ain't won a ship since she became a coach. Matter of a fact they won a ship the year before she came. Bu bu but she learned from Pop! :damn:

Even Stephen Silas was an assistant coach for damn near 20 years before getting the Rockets head coaching job.

So Bill Lambier and Derek Fisher can coach WNBA teams. Geno Auriemma can coach UCONN's womens basketball. But yet Becky Hammon (who's played professionally- not some video guy or the coaches son) can't lead men in basketball? When it comes to black coaches- I'm biased to Sam Cassell who has put in years and years of work and deserves a shot. There's also a lot of other black coaches who deserve another shot. Jason Kidd had a shot at the portland job but didn't want it. Darvin ham, Adrian GRiffin are others. But Becky Hammon deserves an opportunity as well.

That’s literally not the definition of a straw man. I don’t even know why you said that aside from being convinced that everyone who doesn’t like the idea of the push she’s gotten is sexist. And that’s really all your post is about under all that, which is unfortunate. I simply said that I can see why people feel a way. Her face is literally being used to promote clicks on every article on coaching searches and is the first image shown on every network when people talk about coaching vacancies. Seriously, what are you talking about? I know more people who found out her name in the last 3 days than the last 7 years. Also, you created a bunch of arbitrary barometers. Like literally nothing you said here can or should be drawn from anything I said. First off, fixing the issue with black men not getting these jobs isn’t gender specific and no one said it was so again - what are you talking about? No one said all 30 teams in here should be coached by black men, people have been talking about the number dropping from 15 to 7. So again, what are you talking about? Again, if she’s qualified so be it - but don’t treat people like they’re stupid. I’m now annoyed that you actually made me have to defend shyt I never said. I’m literally part of the minority who voted that I would hire her :deadrose:
My response wasn’t particularly to your feelings on the situation. It’s the weak defense of needing more black men coaching as to why she shouldn’t be considered. There will never be 30 black coaches, so I find it stupid to act like her being hired would be an affront to getting more black men hired. If it’s not her, it’ll be a white guy...she’s not hamstringing the efforts to get more black coaches

The “nba players won’t respect her” argument is weird given that she leads nba players during practice and games already as a top assistant :dead:
If iirc she took over for pop a couple times
If she gets hired I don’t see any issues other than normal player coach shyt

end of the day I’m cool with people getting opportunities
I saw David Fizdale and Lloyd Pierce get hyped for years only to be some mid when they got the chance
Let her or Staley get a chance and if they mid :camby:like every other coach

I've never thought I should tell other couples how to run their personal relationship, that's goofball shyt. Every guy who I've seen who is obsessed with other couple's personal relationships like that is insecure and a deviant. Why are you even talking about that in a thread about basketball anyway?
