What did Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey talk about when they went yachting around the Hamptons together last summer? Perhaps only Beyoncé knows.

Maybe now we do, too. Square, the mobile payments company led byMr. Dorsey, announced on Thursday its plan to acquire a “significant majority” of Tidal, the streaming music service owned by Jay-Z and other artists — including Beyoncé, Jay-Z’s wife, and Rihanna, who is a client of Jay-Z’s entertainment management company, Roc Nation.

Square will pay $297 million in stock and cash for the stake in Tidal. Jay-Z will join Square’s board.

Trust black capitalists brehs
All these companies being marketed as black companies have a final goal of being sold ......to cacs
Good for the stakeholders but people can’t get caught up in the illusion that it’s anything more than that
Ehhhh when going up against giants backed by record labels and worth billions it wasn’t a sustainable thing for someone like jay.

And it ain’t like block people supported anyway lol

I get it but at the same time he sold nikkaz on Black ownership to get them there...

He fought the good fight but the sad truth is that when he bought Tidal he was mostly just up against Spotify.

Since then Apple became a competitor and Google also leveled up. It became an unfair fight at that point. These are trillion dollar market cap companies.

Jay a finessing, money making machine. he's the American dream personified.

makes sense why he's been with him so much...he been running around with Jack ever since
"Black Twitter, what's that ? When Jack gets paid, do you ?"

good to see my three favorite rappers doing great. Jay-Z doing....well, everything and getting seats at all the tables, Nas impressive investment portfolio and Cam'ron has his weed company and is punching woman in the back of the head while fukking them to promote his sex juice.

just some legends setting the standards in all realms of life.

and they fukked the roll out so badly it hurt them and what should have been an early head start, set them back.
had to fight through years of jokes, scrutiny and bad press because of that cringey Avengers style video.
