2 years ago when I visited my dad, I finally got stories about his childhood. probably like the 1960s or 1950s? Because it was hard to get a job without an education where he was at, and they literally just grew crops, him and his dad tried to take boats over to the Bahamas to go to school. His dad got returned back to Haiti as soon as they made it over, but he somehow escaped to stay over there. Since they spoke english in the Bahamas, he was able to learn before eventually he was sent back to, but learning english actually opened up the opportunity for him to move to the United States and I think Belgium for a bit.

But he was saying Bahamamians were not happy with the Haitians and Jamaicans that would come over there. Only thing was the Jamaicans would fight back.
