i made a thread bout this album months back bout how it might be the best hip hop album of the 2000s
http://www.thecoli.com/threads/outk...e-the-best-hip-hop-album-of-the-2000s.401528/

but i had to make another thread for it again because i feel like this the 1 kast album that a lot of hip hop heads didn't really fukk with as much as their previous albums. the casual hip hop fans latched onto this album and this is where kast became mainstream names in music and the world

i might be the only 1 who thinks this but i really think this album can stand to toe with their 1st 3
it's crazy to think this is their 4 album after releasin' 3 other classics; it's like how could this be just as strong?!
to me, this album is like the exclamation point on their incredible run as a duo
although speakerboxxx and lovebelow was their last album, those 2 discs were clearly solo albums
like i said before, stankonia is just a listenin' experience and light years ahead of time
i'm still not sure most have even really gotten just how brilliant this album is :ohlawd:

I didn't listen to this until way after it came out but I always thought the album was just cool

So Fresh So Clean
Ms Jackson
Spaghetti Junction
BOB
Humble Mumble
?
Red Velvet
Gangsta shyt
Slum Beautiful
Stanklove

All classics. Rest are :ld: I think the production turns a lot of people off considering the game never really caught on to most of the experimental sounds they were going for / the sounds became outdated quick

Stankonia gets it respect, but if I had to pick between their first 4 albums, it was be the last one I choose....everytime. In my opinion, Aquemini was that exclamation point, but one thing that is undeniable were the singles that they picked for Stankonia. :wow:

But my jam on that album was Stank Love...something about that beat..

stankonia gets a lot of love worldwide but it don't get the same respect as aquemini, atliens, and southerplayastic.... least not IMO

aquemini is my favorite kast album followed right behind with stankonia

stanklove is like funkadelic circa 1972 with "miss lucifer's love" :wow:

Stankonia kind of marks the line from where Outkast fans stop, and where "Andre 3000 and the other guy" begins.

Stankonia was the last Outkast album we'll probably ever get.

Man, once the white folks and our bougie kinfolk jumped on B.O.B & Ms Jackson everything kinda changed.. Between '93-'99 'Kast was "our" thing but what could we do it was bound to happen

There is a version of Ms Jackson with a guitar playing throughout...shyt was piff. When the final version dropped, what we all know today. I was mad disappointed they removed the guitar.

There are also a large collective of people who are Andre 3000 fans... and always think he's rapped about weird shyt and dressed funny.

very solid album but best album of the 00's? :whoa:

its not even the best Outkast album of the 00's :stopitslime:

its not even the best LaFace records album of the 00's :stopitslime:

its not even the best album of the first half of the 00's :martin:

It's effectively the last Outkast album...... cause the follow up was a Greatest Hits album....and SpeakerBoxxx/Love Below isn't an Outkast album...and Idlewild:heh:

I fukked with that version too. That guitar gave the song an added layer of soul. Plus the singing. :wow::wow:
