I really didn't hear about him until It Was Written dropped. I actually didn't even hear Illmatic until after I had heard It Was Written.

And now I'd say hes probably my favorite all time MC.

Back in highschool I was steady buying old cds through Sony BMG group the Buy 1 get 14 free cds deal.
Well this was when I 1st started getting into Wutang and the first album I heard was Only built 4 Cuban Linx with Nas on Verbal Intercourse.
I heard that verse and was just

Now think about this siuation I used to be a big Jayz stan and would think Nas was terrible and had all Jayz's cd's up to black album.

I bought Illmatic and was a changed man. After that day I was like Nas is better and bought all his albums up to streets disciple
