It's not like that shyt couldn't have happened to anyone, who shoots a gun, or even waves one in a club, as far as bystanders getting hit. I remember when I was following the trial, as a young Shyne stan, (school have us access to computers for entire classes) and reading about the women testifying, crippling migraines for days, scared to leave house, it was pretty brutal.
The thing with Shyne, is that we all know, even more then we did in 2000, dude wasn't Rich Porter or Alpo Martine, moving all this weight, he was a kid, who came from a displaced family, was into the streets, enough to get shot when he was 17, 18, then started rapping. He formed an ultimately unhealthy relationship with a predatory Puff Daddy, and was using drugs, likely cocaine. This ended with a devastating shootout in Club New York....but Shyne never told, he never talked about Puff, or Wolf, or tried to get out of it, he took his case to trial, and got ten years, then did them. That's why he gets a level of 'respect', at least until he came out. Not that many other rappers have shot it out in a club, then got arrested minutes later, pistol still in the waist, at 19. That's some Chief Keef shyt.
Star is funny, but dude is bitter, he's washed up criminal, he's one of those guys still telling stories from 20 years ago, we all know them. 'Well, you got 1 ki....shyt, I USED to have ten...20...I was running the whole city'. While everyone sits there like, 'Alright, we hard this ten times'.
