The use of the French Resistance as a model for this series is actually incredible…that element of a revolution or resistance, the underground, desperate, probably gonna die, but passionate about their nation is exactly what elements of the rebellion were built on. Even the use of names like Luthen drive that home.

Show is really a masterclass of elevating content that other IP should take note of. Imagine an X-men show that wasn’t about beating up a final boss, or teenage angst. Imagine one about the morloks and their misfit family and fight for their place in humanity…

Surface level shyt cant cut it anymore. Daredevil is as shallow as I ever want to be presented going forward.

Mon Motha got to see the real side of the rebellion when Cassian started clapping people to protect her.

“How nice for you.” Is completely erased. Comfort zone of living outside the life and death struggle of the rebellion is gone

She is a believer, and a leader, but not a radical. What she realized in the moment, probably when Andor showed her straight up this is life or death, that SHE is life or death, that she is not as ready for this as she thinks.

Mon Motha doesn't know what the rebellion ACTUALLY IS. It's (justified) terrorist acts, even Krennic said so to her. It's stealing fuel, it's assassinating people, it's sacrificing yourself for the cause...and that speech set it off in a way I don't think she knew until she was fleeing.

All those pleasantries, shyt, her daughter married into another aristocracy, who knows what happens there...all that shyt is over, as soon as that speech ended. And to be truthful about politics in 2025, our Congress and Senate loves THAT life too much to actually stand up for the truth and what is right, but that's another thread of course.

The thing is, none of the rebels are built for leadership, but they are now smart enough to know that she is the voice they need. And, while I haven't read it from comics or anything, she is apparently the voice who gives the next speech which literally causes the Rebel Alliance (because, there is no alliance...its just Rebels) which we might see next episodes.

Like I said in the link from Jedi I posted above, her calmness but acknowledging those who died for this is a core part of her character and now we see why.

I rewatched return of the Jedi this past week because...it rules...and Mothma was a nothing character to me before this series, but even here

She acknowledges, very specifically, how people have died for the info she's briefing on. This show does an outstanding job showing why this is a core part of her character. Her whole life went into that mission briefing.

I was watching some reactions and I just realized the reason Luthen knew Organa's team was compromised was because it was Lonni's agent (the ISB guy says it's was "Jung's agent") :wow:

Give Lonni the 6th man of the year award brehs, he's been saving the rebellion for years :damn: :banderas: he even sent the most incompetent cover agent in the galaxy :bryan:

I hope Luthen takes care of him because Palpatine gotta be pissed at the ISB, lmao.

"Rebellions are built on hope"

Something about a random bell hop saying that line, and us knowing it connected with someone and was repeated thru history...that hit me hard :sadcam:

-episode 7 was ass by Andor standards. truth.

-editing of episode 7 8 9 felt kinda off. scenes felt out of place and some dialogue and character behaviors didn't seem 'in character'

-my workplace has better security than the galactic senate

-they did my nikka Cyril bad... he went out like a bytch after being built up for so long.

I'd say he went out a chump after spending the whole series a chump and realizing it too late. Throwing hands with Andor, getting the best of him and not clapping him because of an epiphany isn't bytch made behavior
