That was a lot more lowkey finale than I expected

This arc was basically an extraction and that’s it.

I honestly expected a certain someone to get an epilogue of being caught after the empire failed and executed.

I knew Luthen was never making to the end but I figured it would be some kind of explosion in grand fashion. Kind of sad how the Rebellion and the Empire both phased out a lot of the personalities who did the initial grunt work to get them started.

Kreenic and Dedra scene was chef’s kiss

Hearing Nemik’s manifesto, and then it being revealed that it’s been spread throughout the galaxy…

:banderas:

Partagatz allowed to have his Pantangeli on the Godfather ending. How GREAT was the writing on Andor?

:wow:

Damn that was truly fantastic.

It hurts to know that Lucasfilm won’t be making anything on this level, whether that’s shows or movies, any time soon.

One of the most powerful themes on display here is not only is the empire a threat to the galaxy as a whole but it’s a threat to the people working to maintain it!

And they did it without having to use Jedi, Force powers, Sith, or lightsabers. That should provide everyone there with a remarkable lesson.
Just looking at all their projects and there isn't one with this potential.

Sadly, people just think of Star Wars as the force and lightsabers. Makes you wonder if they even understand why the Original Trilogy so beloved.

The most impressive nature of this series is how it ties with the Original Trilogy and enhances it! Showing how the Rebellion was born and how they weren't the good guys. Why are they fighting against the empire.

Not expecting the quality of Andor to be the consistent, but at least on the level of stuff like Mando S1 or Skeleton Crew. Stuff like Boba Fett & Acolyte were abominations. Ahsoka show in particular is walking a thin line of approaching that.

And just think. each of these arc/3ep batches was pose to be a season. :mjcry:
Least Gilroy and company get a chance to tell the story at all though and end it how he wanted
Would love to see the novelization of Andor. Give me some of the things that didn't make the cut. Honestly, each batch was loaded with content and important details. Would be fantastic to get a glance of it.

luthen is operating based on necessity not compassion.

if anything luthen would extract just lonni. or kill him if he knew he was going to be arrested.

maybe he will try and fail. presumably security recordings will show that mon's assistant knew more than he should have and will show him interacting with andor.

the presence of andor suggests axis to dedra. suggesting to her that lonni might be compromised.

dedra being dedra is probably going to go through the history of compromised operations and lonni's name is going to fall out of that.

dedra was officially taken off axis so i guess driven by anger at syril's demise she breaks ISB protocol and does her investigation without permission.

lonni is chums with the new ISB axis investigation head so thinks he has that base covered. unfortunately he does not know that dedra is on his tail.

that would explain why dedra is the one pulling the gun in the gallery rather than ISB troops. she is lone wolfing it.

my personal hope is that luthen draws a light sabre in defence but i know that is unlikely.

on reflection i think that rather than torturing or blackmailing lonni, dedra has him followed and from there discovers luthen. we've already done torture in the show. we haven't seen clandestine meetings being compromised yet. this will be the first time in the show.

We didn't even need to hear the words Death Star in Lonnie and Luthen's discussion to know what Lonnie was talking about. Of course, we know this is the huge bit of information that even those working in the ISP didn't know. On the surface, Luthen killing Lonnie feels like typical ruthless Luthen of not taking any risks. Although this was also an act of mercy on Lonnie. He wanted to make sure his family was safe and Luthen knew this. Luthen killing Lonnie allowed Lonnie's family to be safe.

Man, the showdown between Luthen and Dedra was what we were looking for. Of course, this comes after Luthen mentions we used up all their perfect. The manner is how were he and Kleya were getting out retaining what they learned without being tracked. Luthen's first sacrifice was for Kleya. You could argue she was right that she was the one better off at destroying the evidence. Though this showed a bit of Luthen humanity because he didn't want Kleya to be the one. But man Luthen knows what to do because Dedra thinks she got him cornered, but Luthen knows at this point him being dead is an aid for the Rebellion. As we know, the Empire will interrogate and drop every bit of information out of you if you are still alive. The saying Luthen won't get to see the sunrise hits hard in episode 10, but he knows what needs to be done.

Dedra is beyond screwed. ISP was under suspicon of her, but now the man she has been searching for is in her grasp and Luthen slips away. You can see it as she is aggravated with the hospital staff. She needs Luthen to talk, but he is literally barely alive. Dedra lost and now is arrested with Krennic questioning her. This actually draws a similarity to the incident on Ferrix when Dedra is questioning Syril. Syril wanted to do justice for the Empire and arrest Cassian. Here Dedra wants nothing more than to capture Kleya and Luthen, but unsurprisingly, the Empire nows views her as a liability given what she has shown. The moment Krennic mentioned Lonnie logged in as her to view the Death Star plans, she was beyond fukked. Although given that she knew about the Death Star, there were bits she was doing unauthorized. More than likely, Syril's death had an impact on that. She very much acted like Syril and now she belongs in the same imprisonment that Cassian was in S1. Quite ironic.

Kleya and Luthen's past being shown in parallel to her infiltrating the hospital was so good. Luthen seemed to be working with the empire originally, and he saw the horrors and by the episode's name of made it stop. He finds Kleya with her, you could say the foundation of the rebel alliance was its true origin. He was basically training her in all the ways from the start. There were bits where you could see they cared for each other like a father and daughter. Though much like Luthen she had to do what needed to be done. But for her to be the one that had to kill Luthen, Man that was cruel af, and you knew that hurt her. :mjcry:

Cassian really serves as the bridge between Luthen's group and the alliance. He is fully aware of Luthen's faults. There is a reason the main rebellion doesn't have a good image of him. Though the moment that Kleya tries to contact him, his sense of urgency heightens. A bit of shown where Cassian has grown. He knows that he has to break protocol, but everything he does to ensure that the Empire can't find out about Yavin. He was right about that Kleya needed to be alive because her connection to Luthen was unbreakable and would have spoken more volumes if she were alive.

No surprise Cassian is under questioning. Though the moment Mon clears him access to see Kleya you get the sense she really wants to believe him. As she knows how much Luthen has done for the rebellion. Cassian's mention on how Bail and Luthen would really have gotten along made me wonder. If he interacted with Luthen as much as Mon did, perhaps he would have accounted for Luthen's intel with more sense of urgency. He might have stayed on Yavin and his presence in the rebellion would have been huge. Sad case of what if.

Now it leads up to Rouge One. Though seeing Bix back on the planet where B2 was around with Cassian's child. I can only hope that spells a good ending for them.

If we're going to give Kennedy shyt for the Sequels we do got to give her props for Andor.

Kennedy allowed creative freedom is a huge strength of Andor & Rouge One, but for some other projects was quite the mess.

So Kathleen was like Luthen trying to get the plan(Andor) out to the masses before the empire(Filoni/LF) could stop shyt or get in the way :jbhmm:
Sound more like she simply stayed out of their way.
Which was the entire problem with the sequel trilogy, she let the directors do their own thing and as a result there was no cohesion between the plots of the movies
She ain't coaching shyt basically.
Just lucky these people are competent story tellers on their own.
