I don't believe for one second the new franchise of Star Wars movies won't focus on a Jedi. Finn obviously is going to be a Jedi. Are you saying Daisy is a Jedi, or will be one? If so, then co-lead I can buy. But I think after movie 1, Finn will emerge as the true lead.

and actually in the new Darth Vader comic book (that takes place between ANH and TESB) they have established some new characters who are not jedi but are somewhat proficient in using lightsabers.
