No, he did not want to train Luke initially. He had to be convinced by Kenobi to train him.
He was testing Luke initially to see what his temperament was like. Luke being an impatient dikkhead was what turned him off. But once his training began Yoda was a dope teacher and even begged Luke not to run off to save his friends, but stay and finish his training. Yoda was nothing like TLJ Luke.

People are having a revisionist recalling of why both Kenobi and Yoda went into exile.

Yoda and Kenobi decided they have to face Vader and Sidious. They both failed. Them being the only remaining Jedi went into hiding, but they feared that the Emperor would learn about the twins and that's why they split them up and Obiwan kept an eye on Luke. It wasn't because they had a "plan". The only reason why Obiwan got Luke INVOLVED was because the droids and R2D2 had a message to give to him. So, it was all inadvertent and Luke only went along because the Empire murdered his Aunt and Uncle.

All of it wasn't because they purposely had a plan. Had that been the case, then Obiwan would of secretly trained Luke for 20 years HIMSELF, but did not. He only did so because of the message sent by Leia and realizing then it was time.

No... Yoda essentially did the exact same thing

Did you finish the movie?

"Until the time is right, disappear we will...Master Kenobi, in your solitude, training I have for you"

Rogue One then continues with Bail realizing the time was right and contact Obi-Wan.

When Luke ran off to see Vader the 1st time, Yoda said this to Kenobi, "Told you, did I. Reckless, he was. Now matters are worse." HE DID NOT WANT TO TRAIN HIM and was reluctant. Obiwan even then cosigned saying, "That boy was our only hope". The ONLY redeeming factor is Yoda saying "there is another" reminding Obiwan about Leia. But let's not act like Yoda was about to step out of exile and save the rebels his damnself. So why get made at Luke for not doing it?

Because Luke trained Kylo HIMSELF, therefore it was his mess to clean up. Also, he had family whom he abandoned to go fukk off on an island. Also, the jackass had cut himself off from the Force completely and was fishing and milking cow titties instead of being one with the Force like Yoda. Also, he left a map so he could be found in case he was needed. If he wasn't gonna help anyone then why leave a map? What was the point of TFA?

Obiwan faced Vader just like Luke technically faced Kylo Ren and BOTH SACRIFICED themselves so their allies can ESCAPE... if we really want to be all technical.

Also, that's JJ fault for putting him on EXILE to begin with. Let's not forget that.

These are two different things.

Yoda and Obi-Wan went into hiding to save the Jedi Order. That doesn't mean that Luke or anyone else get free passes to become Jedi. Even in his rejection, Yoda was teaching both Luke and Obi-Wan a lesson, basically saying "I've seen this before and I'm not about to create an Anakin 2.0 for the Emperor "

"Until the time is right, disappear we will"
How is that the same as "It's time for the Jedi to end".

Again, two different things.

AS SOON AS Obi-Wan sees Leia's message he prepares to head out and help the Rebellion.

What does Luke do for most of TLJ?
