Kobe/Duncan

With that duo you get a ton of versatility AND you get elite defensive players.

if you look at rings as the best player on the team it evens out

Shaq and Bird = 6

Hakeem and Magic = 6

Kobe and Duncan = 6

Magic didnt become the lakers first option till 1986. Kareem was the best player on their first 3 championship teams.

Kareem was the best player in the league when they won in 80'

if i was doing years i would say this

Bird - 81, 84, 86 - I'm aware Maxwell won FMVP in 81, Shaq - 00-02

Kobe - 09, 10, Duncan 99, 03, 05, 07 - I know parker was FMVP in 07

Magic - 82(debateable), 85, 87, 88 - Magic is different since he was a PG, he only won 3fmvp but helped worthy and cap win theirs. Hakeem - 94 and 95

Lets be real about something right here...

That first Finals MVP that Magic has? He's not winning that if Kareem doesn't go down with an injury. Kareem was well on his way to winning the finals MVP along with regular season MVP that years. Magic had to put on the best performance in NBA finals history to snatch that away from Kareem.

I'm struggling with my own personal bias,

Magic (my favorite player ever) and The dream would be a nightmare, but Shaq/Bird is a pretty lethal combination with the way bird could shoot and defend i don't see how you could stop those two

It's not even about the finals mvp which wasnt deserved(Kareem was the best player the first 5 games) its that Kareem was just flat out the better player that season.

Kobe and Duncan, if Kobe and Pau gasol can get 2; no question in my mind Duncan and Kobe is dynasty status. Duncan isn't going to get outplayed by Hakeem or Shaq, they may post better numbers in a series but i am confident Duncan would get his as well.
Thats what im saying. The best partnership out of all of these is Kobe/duncan. If you pick another combo then you dont know much about basketball. :manny:

Now if it was LEbron/Hakeem :damn: :damn:

Do you watch basketball or do you skim right through it.

Shaq/Larry has the best inside outside combo.

Magic and Dream are cornerstones for your franchises

Kobe and Duncan are absolute lethal, you only worry about kobe going into teen wolf mode

Kobe and Duncan have less weaknesses in their game. They are better than average at every facet of the game.

And Kobe/Duncan aren't? With Kobe you get an ATG offensive anchor and with Duncan you get an ATG defensive anchor.

What weakness does dream have in his game? Magic's only weakness would be his man 2 man defense.

Kobe shoots to many bad shots that's a weakness, Duncan sometimes isn't aggressive enough looking to get his own shot.
