State of Play made me realize something concerning about Sony.

No one is gonna try to make a console cause it makes no sense to do so.

Why fight with sony over ~50 million users when you can reach billions outside of sonys console market.

All these huge companies (netflix, apple, google, etc) wanna get into gaming.

The conclusion all of them came to was that investing in a console is some dumb ass shyt.

Sony will ride it till they can’t anymore, but the reality is the way yall think about gaming is dead.

not my problem. Maybe Nintendo becomes serious with standalone consoles again.
Nintendo will never because they have their own lane in the console/hybrid area. Sony and Nintendo don’t directly compete with each because they offer different segments in gaming.

This ain’t no other company investing in Console. Sony is the last Mohican to this. I eventually think Sony will go the the service route to and will be eventually. Store front.

While i do think there will always be dedicated gaming hardware(until local hardware itself is obsolete) Sony has already realized their hardware business alone can’t sustain their software business. Hence the multiplatform push.

In the coming years they will defiantly be trying to find a way to get the playstation store front on other platforms.

No I agree but eventually it could be a fire stick type console. It makes sense in the long run to have a store front to release exclusive titles on to more platforms.

Let me ask you something were you impressed with the State of Play?

I said in the thread it was pretty good to me. They're usually mid at best unless it's on a specific game or straight ass. Mixed the assortment of games up presented nicely. Games below are what I liked/interested me (last 5 are 100% copped)

Shinobi
Monster Hunter Wilds
Lost Soul Aside
Split Fiction
Directive 8020
Onimusha: Way Of The Sword
Hell Is Us
Days Gone Remastered (never got to the original and only 10 bucks for the PS5 version)
Tides Of Annihilation
Mindseye

Saros
MGS Delta

This is a dumb take lol. They don't have to go hard on showcases since they've been criticized in the past for blowing their load years ahead just to have the game take 4~5 years later to release from announcement.
Microsoft was the "loser" in terms of gaming and yet they increased the price of Gamepass? It doesn't work like that.

They no longer have to go hard on first party ip since they are now the default console of choice. Also with no competion the price is going up on services, games and hardware. Basically these nikkaz going to be doing Nintendo prices.

Arrogant Sony about to come full and effect on that ass.

They have never not been the default console of choice since they arrived on the scene.

The only time it was in question was the PS3 era, because they made a system that was hard to develop for and cost to much on top of coming out a year later than the competition, but after that with the PS4 era they were right back at default choice.

Idk how long you've been here but last gen, people online and here were always complaining about games being shown way in advance only to take 4+ years to come out. If this was old Sony, we would've known about Yotei, Intergalactic and other games years ago and @MeachTheMonster and em would be like
"Waitstation :wow:"

They showed Wolverine at a Sop three years ago. You mean to tell me we couldn’t have gotten some at this one?
