I'm not sure anyone has warped a defense like Curry. Prime Shaq and MJ bent defenses, but not like this. Not old enough to have watched Wilt or Kareem.
This guy bends the defense 35 feet out and when he gets hot, opposing teams willingly leave other teammates wide open, even under the basket.
His hot streaks are like Kobe's. Obviously Steph's the GOAT shooter, but Kobe would get hot hitting ridiculously difficult shots and it would fukk everything up. They're spirit breaking shots. Steph hits so many of those.
It’s Curry and Shaq at the top of that list. Nobody else really compares. Shaq demanded a double at all times the first 14 seasons he played. He was averaging 23 a night on 60% shooting in year 13 where he turned 33. He manhandled the defensive player of the year so thoroughly in the finals in 2001 that the league decided allowing the zone defense was the only way to guard him and teams were still so scared of him in the paint that by the time they faced Dallas in the finals in 2006 when Wade was clearly the team’s best player, they still decided basically to double him at all times regardless of whether he had the ball or not.
Now Curry gets the inverse where as long as he’s not in the paint, he demands a double. In game 1 last season in the finals, JR smith left the rim uncovered to guard him at the arc just off instinct since teams are that worried about getting burned from deep. He regularly hits those heat check shots that even Kobe would take only after making 3-4 tough ones. Every time I watch them play he takes 3-4 shots every game where I make the

He’s got plenty of great games in the playoffs and finals, but yeah I can’t recall any one particular game that stands out. Mike has the flu game, the 60+ in Boston, and the game where he switched hands in mid air. Wade has his averaging nearly 40+ the last 4 games against the Mavericks. Shaq has basically the entire 2000 and 2001 finals. Kobe has the 2010 western finals. LeBron has the 48 special, the 45/15/5 in Boston, and both his finals game 7’s. Maybe his game 5 in 2015 against Cleveland?Total facts. But I think in all honesty, he hasn’t done anything super special in the playoffs and I’m not a hater. He’s my favourite player by far but his best ever series was against the Cavs in the Finals. He’s great in the offs but really lacks the signature beast mode games of a Kobe or MJ or Bron or even Shaq.
