Halfcourt is his range, but realistically the reason why he's so difficult to defend is because he's not really going to the rim. Teams have tried everything with him at this point, bigger more physical defenders and he dances and creates a little space & splash, smaller defender and he goes around a screen or just sizes them up and splash.

Any separation and a 3 point shot is going up and there's a 45% chance it's going in, nobody is going to press up on him 26 feet from the rim and have solid results, handchecking would have more of an effect on a slashing wing player that has no jumpshot than it would a dude that's sizing people up and looking to get jumpers off as opposed to attacking the rim. Did handchecking stop Mark Price? nope.

You need someone that can consistently harass him for 94 feet even when he doesn't have the ball.

You gotta make him work at all times on both ends.

No, hand checking didn't stop Mark Price.

But since you brought it up, maybe Price's numbers offer a bit of a reality to what Curry's numbers might look like had he played in another era.

Price had like a 3 year run where he was just:whew:.

A perfect comparison of who Steph is would be a combo of Price and Nash, but more athletic and more of a negro with his ball handling and skill. Idk about Magic, but with 6-7 mire years at this level and another ring or 2, he can easily pass Zeke. Real talk:yeshrug:

Nah like Delly before his body gave out on him. It throws him off his rhythm and slows down their pace.

You need strong ball denial ability.
tell that dumbazz to stop drinking coffee before and during games

what a idiot

His diet was absolute shyt too. It's not like he went into the season expecting to be starting in the Finals.

You're not going to shut Steph out completely but you can throw him off his rhythm and slow down their pace if you have the right personnel in a series.

this is where the soft nba rules benefit a player like chef c. you saw Delly bothering him in the playoffs. so was shump. how? they are stronger, larger guys. they were bodying him up and handchecking(refs allowed it since the cavs were so banged up to make it a series).

but in normal nba games in 2015. you cant touch anyone on the perimeter without a whistle. so no you cant guard him PERIOD. you just cant. if curry was here in the late 90's. their would be better defense on him. he would still do his thing because he's that good and has that great footwork. But it would be more difficult causing his fg%, and 3pt% to slip a bit. but now. there's no logical way to guard him period. so why even try at this point. pray he does put up kobe numbers (62 in 3, 81 in 4, a bunch of 50 pt games in a row, etc.)
It's difficult to guard a shooter that can score off the dribble from anywhere in the perimeter. You can slow them down for a short period of time. Nonetheless, great players will find a way to defeat tough defensive schemes. Delly and Shumpert had success in a couple games in containing Steph, but that didn't last long when Steph adjusted to their defense and stop forcing shots. As of result, Steph lit them up in the final two games of the NBA finals.

Also, Steph would have been a lot more success in the 90s because the NBA didn't have zone defense. Team can not guard a skilled shooter who can shoot off the dribble and could beat any defender to the bucket without zone defense. Illegal defense rules would have made it difficult for teams to contain a shooter like Steph.

Averaged 27ppg in the 90-91 @ 5'10" 160lbs

23ppg in 88-89

I don't ant to hear about how "soft" the league is when I saw PGs like Francis, Davis and Marbury all put up numbers despite the fact none of them could consistently shoot. They did that with handchecking and much lower basketball IQ's than Curry, I mean cot damn, Marbury averaged 24ppg in 00-01 and shot 44% from the field WITH handchecking. So Curry, armed with the best jumpshot ever, and a handle on par with some of the best ball handlers to play in the league isn't going to get his, despite the many examples of lesser players than him putting up numbers during the 1980s through 2004 pre-handchecking era?

He'd still be able to do what he does, because you cannot affect his jumpshot, he was shooting over Anthony Davis like he wasn't even there :russ: Yall dudes act like Mark Price wasn't hitting shots during the "murderball" era, and he couldn't create 1/10th as well as Curry can, Curry is bigger than Kevin Johnson was, could anyone effectively guard him? Nope, just accept that Curry is a special talent instead of trying to shyt on the game.
