I am comfortable and I love you
Players now have more stylistic freedom. Rules were different back then, 2 steps MEANT 2 steps, Euro steps were called travel, couldn’t palm the ball while dribbling it was called carry, big men weren’t allowed to play out of the paint (even though some could), wasn’t allowed to shoot 3 pointers at a high rate no matter how great of a shooter you were.

Not more skilled, they have more freedom.

This made me think of when Andrew Bynum got benched for taking a 3 :mjlol:

This was well after Steph started his career. Not that Bynum was a great shooter by any means, but now you can't imagine any player being benched for shooting.

The game has just changed so much so quickly :wow:

Depends on how you define skill. I miss the days when big guys could score in the post, set picks, box out, etc.. Now all these Centers just shoot jumpers and are soft as baby shyt. The league went from a big mans game, they changed the rules and now the game benefits little guys the most. Guys like Isiah Thomas and Kevin Johnson would benefit even more if they played in todays game.

Horseshyt. Big men just shoot threes and dribble now instead of playing the post. Big men had handles and could shoot back then but they had to specialize to play a specific role. These are the top 0.0001% of players in the world, they were skilled then they are skilled now.

Victor Wembanyama is 7 feet tall with practically a point guard skill set.

Today’s NBA player would have been unthinkable 20 or 30 years ago.
Notice how only the ‘90s responds even though Steph didn’t mention any single decade. Hit dogs holler.

Plumber era in their feelings.

Charles Barkley only played in the 90s?

Coli Nikkas and they gendas

Has a star from the 60s, 70s or 80s ever retroactively admitted that their own era was trash, less skilled, and/or would be food if they had to play in any decade that proceeded (or preceded) their own?

Everyone thinks their era is the prime era right?

They have but not in those words. They admit todays players are bigger stronger faster quicker than them. But they feel today's players are mentally weaker than them
